WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
To win over the fans?
Three wins?
Remain undefeated over the three games?
Does he deserve a chance if he gets a decent points total from the next three games?
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
For me, nothing that he has done before or during his time here on the coaching staff has warranted a chance.
At virtually any other club he would not get a chance.
To answer the question though surely a decent upturn on Morison's points average should be enough for Tan. He should be nowhere near the position though outside of a stop gap and getting a serious manager in.

Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
All the things that have been suggested in the other 10 threads about him :hehe:

New inexperienced managers have to start somewhere though?

We could have a proven manager in place right now and he could lose the next three would we want him out?

Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Ignore all the idiotic ravings of a bunch of deluded so called fans on this board, would be my advice to him.

Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Give a compliment to Mrs Bridges.

Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
he needs one good performance with a win, a strong % of this board will back him
to get backed by the board? i'd guess a point from the 3 games maybe
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
I think as long as he looks like keeping us up, Tan & Co. will stick with him. Which is a bit ironic when you consider Morison's sacking after just 10 games.

I doubt any of them do , I would be worried if any sane footballer / manager would follow the wistful meanderings of CCMB posts..

Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
A couple of clean sheets for starters with good performances for all to see.

They do.
For me that is not the second tier with little to no experience.

Let's be honest, you would champion any old cr@p the club serves up wouldn't you.
All in the name of supporting the club apparently.
We could get consecutive relegations to the National League and you would say it was all part of Vinny's plan.

I am very pleased that you recognised yourself in my description.

If he wins the next 3 then give him another 2 weeks.
He isn’t up to it, it’s obvious.
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Jokes aside, he needs to serve up what Morison did, but with some goals scored and less goals shipped, leading to points on’t’ board…

Exactly.
(someone somewhere will have the stats for the number of clubs who have given individuals their first managerial jobs whilst playing in the Championship. I can think of Trolls, Morison and now Hudson, for us anyway)

There won't be many at Championship level that have given a manager with 4 games as a stand in manager a crack at their job on a full time basis. Simply due in part to their fans asking what is going on at their club to make such decisions. We're used to just sitting there and accepting any old rubbish at City though and have been for some time.

Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
...this is a trick question right? Have I been whooshed again?

Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Learn from the mistakes SM made.

Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Sorry, Stan , didn't read your OP just saw the title. I think another manager that gets the job by default won't win over the fans. It'll split them in the same way Morison did. Add to that, I don't think he'll be that great and I believe his record is 'lost all matches'. I hope it works out for him/us I really do but this is no way to run a football club.

Paul Trollope had managed Bristol Rovers for 5 years before he got the Cardiff job (with a range of different coaching jobs in between).
Mark Hudson had his first interim managers job - 4 games in the Premier League - with Huddersfield years before this chance with us.
Morison - yes. But that is hardly a trend.
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
It's pointless comparing managers experiences they either deliver or they don't, it's all short term as they are managing overpaid spolit players with ego's , that's why folk like Warnock have short term positive results ,they briefly shock them into action , but eventually it wains and they leave... and rhen they plunge into another crisis ..
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Not be honest in interviews, don’t be firm with players when needed, don’t show a hint of self confidence. The whiners on this board should love him then.
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
To win over some of our fans, he’d have to work miracles on a weekly basis.
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
well he made a good start today, players gave everything and was rewarded with a well earned point against a classy team
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Just needs to stabilise things and get enough points to see us comfortable.
Morrison brought in SEVENTEEN players.
That shit don't work for the best coaches in the business, let alone Mr egomaniac.
He's left us with a huge squad that is still short in key areas.
If Hudson see's us comfortable on a very limited budget, I fail to see how anyone can criticise him really, considering the mess he's inherited.
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Did Hudson start the game with our best available 11? We looked better after the substitutions which suggests he didn't. He should know the best starting lineup by now.
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
Today's game wasn't great , we should have scored early on with half decent chances , our end product is easy to defend against.. take a draw all day long , against a club with far more to offer, as to what Hudson has to do its not complex just win from the players he has ..
This is going to be a tough watch season ..
.

Morison was given even more of a mess from McCarthy and still turned it around.

He was allowed to recruit 17 players.
We still had no forwards apart from Robinson.
We looked beyond toothless.
If you consider that sensible, or an improvement, god bless you. It clearly doesn't take a lot to impress you!

You are saying that safe in the knowledge that we weren't trying to sign strikers - Morrison admitted that two of our early striker targets went elsewhere

If we spent all summer searching for strikers (with a 2m budget to spend) and ended up with Etete and Robinson (looks good in fairness so this isn't a slight on him) then I'm glad he's gone.

He wasn't just searching he was trying to sign strikers and the fact we didn't sign our initial targets surely can't just be down to Morison - you are glad he is gone and of course that's your perogative but I wish he had been given more time
My biggest concern is that what I saw today doesn't appear to be too far off from a half tidy side but the off field shite that is our board can't be helping by providing no plan no vision and just causing instability in the club and on the pitch
I feel the managers (not just Morison) are being punished for the massive shortfall in our board and their complete incompetence of running a football club - it is a complete shambles
-
Re: WHAT DOES HUDSON HAVE TO DO?
I think he's done OK 👍
