Looks like Mr Tan loosened the purse strings and the team flying up this afternoon to Newcastle.
Would have been a long journey otherwise.

I hope the players are more comfortable in the the air than they were on Wednesday.

We went from having several seasons as the best team in the air offensively and defensively to almost inept.
I prefer our style of play now, but a few Warnock-esque 6ft 5 brutes in the squad wouldn’t go amiss

I seem to remember Steve Morison confirming that we’d be flying up to Sunderland before we played at Middlesbrough - pretty sure he said we’d be going by plane to just the one away game this season.

Match facts
- This is the first league meeting between Sunderland and Cardiff City since January 2018, with the Bluebirds winning 4-0 under Neil Warnock.
- Cardiff are looking to win three consecutive league matches against Sunderland for the first time since December 1959.
- After four unbeaten home league games to start his tenure, Tony Mowbray suffered his first home defeat as Sunderland boss against Burnley. The last Sunderland manager to lose consecutive home league games was Chris Coleman back in March and April 2018 (three in a row).
- Cardiff City have lost nine of their last 13 away league games (W3 D1), picking up just 10 points from a possible 39 and failing to score eight times in this run.
- Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray has only lost two of his 16 Championship matches against Cardiff City (W8 D6), winning both last season as Blackburn manager.

Why Why Why......keeps picking Nkounkou and Ojo.......There HAVE to be better options in the youngsters...none even on the bench. Bloody awful selection again....fed up. Can only envisage another pedestrian display and defeat.
Cardiff City XI: Allsop; Romeo, Ng, Kipre, Nkounkou; Wintle, Ralls; Philogene, Ojo, O'Dowda; Harris.
Subs: Alnwick, Sang, Nelson, Sawyers, Rinomhota, Whyte, Watters.

Looks like 4-2-3-1 to me, but I can see us getting over run in midfield.

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Interesting change.
Ojo and Rino aren’t very similar players. That would suggest quite a tactical shake up.
Less attacking down the wings and more runs through the centre perhaps?

I’m think Closer to a 442 maybe with Ojo behind or alongside Harris.

Big test today in front of a big crowd.
Sunderland's lowest home attendance this season 35,900 and twice they have had over 40,000

What youngsters are better than them?
Ive watched the youngsters on You Tube and none of them stand out as pushing for a place.

Penalty missed!!! should have been a red card against Sunderland.
Struck well but too nice a height for keeper.
