Whitehead I think is a good bet.
It’ll be Colin
Warburton An interesting one.
As long as it’s not Bamba
I had to Google Liam Manning! Smith or Warburton?
Warnock 2-1 fav this morning.
Warnock would just be a lazy appointment. Why do people see him as almost a guarantee that we’d avoid relegation?
I’d like to see Bellamy come in. He’d get the players motivated and playing progressive football.
Unfortunately, I can’t see it happening under the current regime.
Money on Whitehead as hes now 5-1 2nd fav.
Rumours are rife that Warnock has been approached.
David Moyes could be available soon!
Liam Manning would be a really good appointment, but a gamble given our league position. I'd vote for Dean Smith
I would nearly rather be relegated than have to watch Warnock football again.
As much as I'd rather us look longer term I wonder whether now is the time for that.
With everything going on at the club what sort of quality of manager would we attract anyway.
As a definite to the end of the season job I wouldn't be against Warnock necessarily. But then what?
The last couple of years we have made new manager speculation so boring, I don't see this episode being interesting either.
I'd love Sean Dyche but that would mean putting their hands in their pockets.
Reappointing a manager whose record includes the following
1. Dealing with his old friend Willie McKay to get the Emiliano Sala deal done at an overinflated transfer fee and overinflated salary .A deal with a man that NW knew was not a licenced intermediary and was in the early stages of a five year bankruptcy restriction which doesn`t end until August 2023.For whose financial benefit? In doing so, going behind the directors of the club and their opposition to the deal.
2.Several deals with agencies employing one of his sons, many on questionable terms. This happened not only at Cardiff City but also at Sheffield United and Crystal Palace where the football authorities weren`t happy with deals involving a close family member.
3. Persuading at least two CCFC players to switch agents to those employing his son, soon after which they received substantial pay increases.
3. As part of the Sala deal giving playing contracts and playing time to two of McKay`s sons who had no apparent footballing quality. At one point the development team included the two of them plus another of Warnock`s sons (William). All three were denying places in the team to better players.
4. Accusations from at least two now retired players of NW asking for money in exchange for picking them in his teams to get appearance money. Rumours that he was doing the same at CCFC and was trying to at Middlesbrough which is why he left there quite rapidly.
Based on the above , yes moral bankruptcy.
Manning is a major gamble, his MK Dons team were garbage this season. They've lost their stars and they're going down.
Wilder was linked with Pompey, we are a more attractive option than them. His reputation has taken a significant hit after Boro but he's done extremely well everywhere else. He is a no brainer for me.
The 2 shortening in the market are Warnock now 6/4 , Whitehead 9/2.
Gareth Ainsworth not too far down the odds. I know people will scoff at the idea but he's spun gold out of nothing year after year at Wycombe. More to the point, if the incoming manager has no budget it's a situation he's more than used to.
