"Club legend" Sol Bamba?
Well liked and a fan favourite, sure, but he was here for what 4 years?

Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Just had a look on SkyBet
Lamouchi was 5/1 yesterday
9/1 the day before
He’s into 4/6 favourite now 🙏
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
But yes, good appointment

4 years is a fair time in this day and age.
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Would be very happy with that
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Looks as if its happening. With a few signings this will transform season.
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Would be pleased if this happens.

Hopefully there are a couple of key player signings lined up before next week`s deadline as well.

Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Who did Lamouchi have with him at Forest (players)?
Any that he could bring with him - much like Warnock did with Bamba and Hoilett
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Happy about the manager, rather Bamba wasn’t involved after his nonsense when he left.

Last Christmas ...

Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
I would be more than happy if this comes off - need a couple of fresh faces on the pitch as well though to fully restore some hope and faith.
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Thank God. And well played to Rob Phillips for getting the original scoop.
Looks a very competent appointment.
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Sounds good - particularly if Bamba plays... :hehe:
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Know little about him but I'm just happy at this point if we hire someone that has actually managed somewhere. Liked bamba as a player here and he seemed well liked amongst layers and staff.

Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Something happening down the ground , there's a weird buzz about the area , Dai Hunt is circling the car park on his bike as we speak, another magic era is upon us .. Shop has no Sol Bamba shirts left .

Here's his squad from the season they nearly made the playoffs. Not sure who he might want/would be available.

yeah I agree, if we were starting from scratch with a new squad in a new season then there are probably others I'd have preferred, but where we are and with the players we've got I think his style probably suits us more than any of the other names mentioned.
hope they get him and it works out

Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
I think that this will be a great appointment.
This is what my grandaughter's partner (a Forest fan) had to say: -
"Sabri was the spearhead that reunited the fans and the club, played very good football and very solid defensively. Very, very good appointment and worked with Sol Bamba during his tenure at Ivory Coast."
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Good news if this happens.
He seems like the best of the runners and riders claimed as in the frame.
Also happy to see Sol back - and even happier that it would be as a No2 not as a rookie manager.

Doubt it, he signed a 2 year deal with Sydney FC, back in August 2022.

Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
WOW 🤩
Something is definitely happening
SkyBet we’re offering Lamouchi at 4/6 when I looked earlier
He’s been backed into 1/3
I reckon Tan’s had a bundle on to pay for the players that’ll be brought in 😀🙏
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Well if as they say he's route one and direct football ....
Put your sticks down and let's have it !

Either that or he's gonna make a killing laying it on the exchange if nothing comes of it.

Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
Based on our recent appointments, this would certainly make us think that they've put a bit more thought into this one.
Not sure though how Sol got involved? Wouldn't Lamouchi have his own preference?

direct, but not hoof ball from what I've read.
his teams get the ball wide quickly and progress through dribbling and get numbers forward quickly.
not aim it at the big man from 50 yards away.

I can live with that.
I don't mind direct if it's on the ground, it's
the hoofball that gets me.
Is he another wingback merchant?
Not sure we have the quality for wingback systems at the minute.
-
Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
I think this would be a popular move but above all else it would seem a really progressive appointment
Which makes me think that it won't happen.
On the other subject I'd absolutely consider Bamba a club legend. It's not always about how long someone is at the club but the impact, connection with fans and clear leadership on the pitch.

most of his time in recent jobs he played 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-4-1
could also play 4-3-3

Good news.
You need the players for the fabled Pep wingback system.
Morrison failed miserably with his attempt at that. We could do with 4 at the back and reinforcements in the middle.
Old skool, but proven to be effective when you're not flush with top full-backs.

Re: Lamouchi and Bamba....
3 players lined up and ready to sign.

Without a doubt

Lambouchi requested Bamba as his assistant. I understand Whitehead staying on as coach.
