Good food in Cardiff?
I'm quite partial to breakfast when in Wales but my local haunt has become somewhat too pricey - GBP9.50 for poached eggs on toast.
Anyone got any recommends? I'm in Penylan/Roath.

Frersco in Canton is always decent, and Elmers on Crwys rd the same.

Re: Good food in Cardiff?
Second vote for Elmers. Central Market in town.

Re: Good food in Cardiff?
would be helpful for our friend if you could give a price for the breakfast.

Ground floor, of the market, on the corner? They do some lovely indian food upstairs and there;s a pizza place that's good, not that expensive either.

Didn’t read the price part properly, do not go to Wildflower Kitchen in that case. £14.50 I think it was with a free hot drink

Re: Good food in Cardiff?
Christ they really are giving you a hard time with those prices
In Llantwit Coastal Cafe does a huge all day breakfast for £ 9
And there are cheaper places than that in Bridgend

Pizza Place is highly rated , love the market , it feels so Cardiff and when you enter if feels from the shite high street chains and /shops , Arcades are cool as well everything else in the High Street I'd pull down and put IN affordable housing

Shrewsbury is a nice place to visit. Cardiff, especially queen st is looking a bit rough and forgotten. There's also a greek and athai place on the groundfloor of the market, both really good, and not that expensive.

I do tend to agree with you, Cardiff isn't great for food at the middle price range.

There's a few good curry houses but most of Cardiff seems to be chain restaurants
Mind you that's fine by me as a steak in a harvesters is as posh as it gets

High Street, for a short street, has a few nice restaurants and two arcades off it.
