If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?

Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
Yes but initially a one year deal
Expectation levels need to be escaping relegation

Yes.
Even though we're still teetering on the edge, he's got the most out of this batch of players, compared to the other managers.

His record is comparible with Hudson's.

He'll tell the board investment is needed for the squad. They'll offer him a discount voucher for Subway and he'll leave. Even if he stays would he be someone who could rebuild?

I’d suggest anyone who can rebuild with this squad and no signings would get a better job than ours.
If he keeps us up he’ll have done the short term job, so if he actually wants to stay then he deserves a chance

Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
What’s the alternative? Another coach with no management experience?
Give him a full season, a chance to reshape our squad and let’s see what he can do.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
Before yesterday, I’d have definitely said yes, but after watching us play hoofball badly for ninety minutes in the closest thing I’ve seen this season to the bad, old days of McCarthy especially while also being a shambles tactically, I’m not so sure. On balance, I’d still say yes, but not with any great hope that things will be any better next season.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
He completely messed up on Monday. HE didn't seem to know what he was doing and changed formations 4 times in the first half.
However, our three previous managers this season in Morison, Hudson and Whitehead couldn't get the players to perform consistently and therefore surely the problem is with the balance of the team and playing personnel.
Changing managers, even in the Summer, changes little.
The group needs to be added to with some leadership, character, fight and goals - all things we lack this season and things that can't be put right by constantly changing managers hoping that they wave a magic wand.
Let Lamouchi and Bamba get on with it and if we stay up let's see what they can do to address these issue - although their hands will be tied considerably.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
Remember, it's not solely him where it comes to tactics.
He has a coaching staff that do all that background before games and report back to him. Therefore, it's likely they got it wrong.
Yes I would like to keep him

Hudson looked clueless and out of his depth and I think we'd be in the bottom 3 now if he stayed.
Lamouchi brought back some confidence and belief.

Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
The way I look at it is who would they pick next?
It could be anybody. Their methods up to now have no rhyme or reason.
Stick with him whether he keeps us up or not. A definite no to cheap backroom staff masquerading as a manager without a penny to spend.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
Yes, I like him, think he’s had a tough job to take over from.
Although biggest concern would be Bamba taking over if not which I think would be a disaster.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
I think he will leave if we stay up or not.
This squad isnt his fault. But yesterday was such an organisational shambles I have doubts whether hes what we need.
However with such a poor squad a transfer embargo Im sure he will leave even if we survive.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
I can't believe people have turned on him after so few games.
Modern football right there.
He might have got it wrong but you don't know what the injury situations were etc. He's also been left with an absolute crock of a playing squad and was brought in so late in the transfer window he couldn't even bring in loans with no fee.
As some have mentioned he recognised there was an issue and tried to change it. We could have got Warnock if Tan hadn't have burnt his bridges and accused every manager who hasn't nailed every transfer of conning him.
If people showed this much energy towards the owner and board we wouldn't be in this mess.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
Who we should be blaming are the board that saw fit to put an Under 23 coach in at the deep end and let him build a squad with the famous transfer committee.
The same people who backed up that monumental cock up by employing another wet behind the ears coach as manager.
Yet we're all here scratching our heads as to why we have arrived here and doing a Tan and throwing the only competent manager we've had this season under the bus.
I don't want to sound all Paul Ince but Pep wouldn't be able to get a tune out of half of these idiots.
Half of these lazy feckers haven't put a shift in for anybody but you suddenly expect them to start busting a gut for Lamouchi.

It wasn't Tan or the Board who were responsible for the left wing back fiasco yesterday.

Did they not oversee the squad being assembled?
This shit squad is directly linked to Tan and the crap decisions they made. People can blame Steve Morison all they like. He should never have had a sniff at the job and that is the fault of Tan and the board.
How do the board keep making ridiculously bad decisions and we blame the man one step up from the playing staff? It is unbelievable how people blame the man at the bottom who basically won the lottery but should never have been in that position (Morison and then Hudson).
Now Lamouchi is taking pelters for the crap situation they have created. He is easily the best manager we've had this season. He is just working with an absolute $hit show of a squad assembled by the board pick of Morison and the transfer committee.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
12 games he has had, with a squad he has added none of his own players to and were hardly pulling up trees before.
Is that what we have now turned into as a fanbase?
Rather than ask why Lamouchi hasn't turned this shower round in 12 games ask why we have ended up in this position. It has been a slow and steady decline and that should not be on Lamouchi. Sacking him today, tomorrow or next week does not fix that.

The problem with all of that is we've got a specialist in the position who did well enough for us last season who this manager is completely ignoring.

He has been ignored by a few managers.
Do you think picking him changes that result yesterday?
It is rotten from top to bottom. Just because people fail to see what is in front of them doesn't mean it is any less true.
Our knowledgable board have gambled and it has all gone to ****. That is where the blame should be directed, not the fella trying his best to rescue the circus they've created.

No but if he played Simpson from the start and we started the game the same he would have had just as much stick. He tried to get us on the front foot with a more attacking option in Ojo and it failed so he switched it up early-ish.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
I'm not so sure now but goodness knows what decent manager would come here. It just all feels so gloomy.
Lamouchi seemed clueless on Saturday both in terms of initial team selection and tactical nous. I'm not even sure he's properly able to guage the true calibre of individual players.
We've been dealt a bad hand by the board and successive managers for a long time now but I'm not particularly impressed by Lamouchi and don't expect any revival under his leadership.

Exactly.
Do people think he sent Ojo out with the orders "be absolutely crap mate, oh and don't show you can be @rsed either".
The players are the problem. The players are here because people that the board picked assembled a crap squad with no experience and no money.
We gambled and it has gone wrong big time.

If hed started Simpson LWB your right he probably would have. But he started Romeo then moved Ojo to LWB then tried Simpson.
The midfield was a disaster with Sawyers totally anonymous. Wickham was shocking.
By the end we just thrown bodies on and it seemed hope for the best.
He was all over the place tactically. Our first corner was embarrassing nobody seemed to have a clue who was supposed to take it. It seemes they were all wondering where Ralls was.
Lamouchi and his staff are as much to blame as the players for that display yesterday.

No but Sunderland were a small side. Id expect him to have worked on set plays and somebody know who was supposed to be on feckin corners.
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
The biggest laugh in all of this is that many of the same people who shot down any mention of a visible protest against Tan and the way the club is run are now publicly slating the manager after 12 games in charge.
Let's just keep sacking managers and hope it all works itself out!

Set plays have been crap ever since we decided to get rid of all the players who were decent on set plays.
Unfathomable that. You get rid of players that are good at something, bring in ones that aren't good and you're no longer good at that thing.

I don’t disagree but it would have been a brave manager to leave out Swayers and Wickham after the Blackpool game. Players have bad games, managers pick wrong teams. It happens, always has always will.
I can see why he started with who he did and why he changed it as well. Bad day at the office all round but personally I like him as a manager and would like him to stay. I don’t think this squad is anything like what he would want but he’s trying things to try and make it work, sometimes it has, others it hasn’t.

That's what we do as a club though.
Seems the fan base who turn on a manager after 12 games is very much in line with Tan on this too.

Even you cant blame Tan for us winning a corner and there being a wait as nobody knew who was supposed to be taking it.
Yesterday was a new low for set pieces.

If we're bagging Lamouchi then who picked Lamouchi?
It wasn't me.
The club took an age to get the man they'd looked into and took their time to get. If Lamouchi isn't good enough then whose fault is that?
Lamouchi's? The club for picking the wrong man on the back of Morison and Hudson?
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
Yes of course, does anyone think that Dalman and Tan could get a better one?
He's just about the best they've picked but he was given a terrible hand.

Exactly this.

It is like a circus to everybody looking in.

I don't know if picking Bagan would have made a huge difference, but it would have been better than seeing our manager tie himself up in tactical knots for the first thirty five minutes to such an extent that he had to bring on a centreback for winger/attacker to, partially, sort out the mess he'd got himself in.
Blaming this one on Tan isn't going to work. Bagan has played thirty odd times in the position, scoring three times. Ignoring him completely is nothing whatsoever to do with Tan,
-
Re: If Lamouchi keeps us up, would you give him a new contract?
Or ignoring Colwill. Ralls didnt look like he was struggling with an injury either.
