It won't be a dead rubber. We'd love to help relegate the old fossil.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
Got a strange feeling about this one based on our behaviours this season ,win one away, lose one at home .
Let us hope the alleged 25k turn up and support for 90 plus minutes

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
With o'Dowda out might we see Bagan or maybe another showing for Ralls at wing back? I also note that Adams played an hour for the reserves this week, it would be nice to see him make his debut at some point on Sunday given the terrible luck he's had this season.

If we are safe mathematically tomorrow and seeing as how hes said Bagan should get a contract then he really should play.

...as for today's games...am watching Reading v Wigan. Can't see Reading not winning given how they have played so far...looks pretty much full house also.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
So....Reading 0 Wigan 0 at half time. We are 45 minutes from mathematical safety.
Wigan coming back in the game...no clear cut chances either side. Wigan keeper look decent and decisive....

Phew that was tense. I wonder if that might effect selection. This will be the first game for Lamouchi (and is for a while!)where the pressure is off. It would be nice to see one or two academy players who have done well this year get a look in.

So you wanna risk a fine for playing a weakened side, against a team that could still possibly get relegated, wonderful tactics, not !!!!!!

Brighton made 6 changes today, I don't think they'll be getting fined. One or two academy players is not going to garner a fine, don't be so dramatic.

Weve played Thursday as well.
No O Dowda. Lets play Bagan , Colwill , Davies at least and maybe King as well.

Would be totally unsportsmanlike to do that, especially as Huddersfield are still in the mix for relegation.

I'd personally start Luthra and Bagan, and then the other three as subs.

That's not our problem. We need to plan for a summer without our 3 best players and what appears another embargo. Completely not our problem Huddersfield are in that situation, you worry about yourselves.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
I expect one or two surprises tomorrow, although the manager will want to win. Simpson is likely to start as we have noone else on the left.
Perhaps Davies will start with Adam's on bench.
We will see.
City will win 2-1

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
Seems like bowl all but sold out. Very surprised Ninian L5 not opened. Does noone work a CCS over weekends to make decisions?

With our home form, I doubt the league could legitimately say that fielding our ‘full’ side wasn’t throwing the match.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
"Smashed through the 26,000 mark" according to the supporter's liaison officer on Twitter with tickets still available online and for a walk up, so our 2nd biggest crowd of the season
Surely they'll have to open some of the red stand if tickets are available tomorrow? What does the main bowl hold, 27/28k?
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
Disappointing to see Bagan in the reserves today - if what Sabri has said about him is remotely true it’s hard to understand him not getting a look in over Simpson in a meaningless game. You could probably say the same for King and maybe Denham too.
At least there’s some chance he will involve Davies I guess, but hardly a ringing endorsement that he will give some of the youngsters a look in if he’s retained.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
Not bad ticket sales for a little old club whose attendances ‘are on the slide’.

Those are your words you plum
I was referring to away support
I think it's great to see a big crowd down the city
The problem is it doesn't happen very often

Let’s hope the team turn up too. It’s been grim at home.

No real excuse today. No pressure.

We have had a local Derby with a 28 k crowd ....which we should .....and what was going to be a crunch game with Huddersfield....which has seen us sell tickets at half price
Cardiff City's problem has never been getting big crowds from time to time ......its getting them on a regular basis
Which part of that don't you understand ?
Even when we would get big gates in the seventies the next week our crowds would drop by half
You can deny history as much as you like but it's always been our nemesis

This is just rubbish. Including today, four out of the five last home games have got attendances over 20000 and four of those were over 22000. Our home average attendance will end up pretty close to 20000. People have still got to want to go to a game and turn up for it, no matter what the cost of the ticket is. When was the last time we got 28500 for a derby as well. You are in denial and wont accept that City are a well supported club at this level.

That's despite 3 pretty miserable seasons, the consequences of the rebrand and our complete lack of success (every team with higher attendances bar one have had prolonged stays in the top flight in the last 20 years or so which is the only thing that really builds attendances)

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN: Match thread
“Cardiff City's problem has never been getting big crowds from time to time ......it’s getting them on a regular basis” This is very true, having seen my first game in 52/53 season. For example City beat Spurs 3-2 on a Saturday night in March 61/62 season when Spurs did the double and there were over 50,000, the following home game against Villa and there were less than 12,000
