Oscar Garcia
Doesn’t stay anywhere long

He should suit us then because we can't keep a manager more than a few weeks or months at the most!
I think Garcia would be a sound acquisition looking at his good win % at a number of teams, mainly overseas - meaning he will have wide knowledge of footballing talent away from the UK, which I think would be beneficial for the City.
A manager appointment is close apparently, if you believe Dalman and they are waiting for a reply to the appeal to the transfer ban https://twitter.com/roathboy/status/...ZQyp-iO2wYo4Kg
Jones
And the Oscar goes to…his 8th club in 9 years.
Sky bet and oddschecker have moved towards Nathan Jones as favourite only 2/1
Nathan Jones 2/1
Bamba 5/2 (hopefully its a no for him as odds are getting bigger)
Oscar Garcia 3/1
Looks like Jones or Garcia, personally I think Jones is perfect for us especially if he brought Paul Watkins with him, we need a football man in the club and someone to speak to Tan, so leaving the manager to Manage.
Its happening!!!!!!
On the face of things, Jones would be a good fit. His style would be easier for us to implement than one where possession is king, there's actual method in his play, his teams are very aggressive when out of possession and i think that he had a decent set piece record. For us to go down the 'Football' route would take time and a recruitment team who know what they want, i don't trust the people at the club to be able to deal in that kind of market, so for me, Jones would make sense, as long as we're not talking about the return of Dave Jones.
The market will be interesting over the next day.
A few more seeing the twitter rumours on Garcia and money will go on and he will be the new favourite.
Nathan Jones now the fav, tbh comes across a bit of an idiot but he seems like a top class choice when bloody Bamba was the fav.
Jones over Garcia any day.
I’d much prefer managers like Jones and Bellamy only when Tan is no longer here. He’ll stifle them otherwise.
Give me Garcia (who I had never heard of before yesterday) and here’s hoping he can bring in 3-4 hidden gems from one of his 73 previous clubs.
South Wales, Southampton swops, Jones to Cardiff, Martin to Southampton, I think we are the winners here, and probably Swansea.
Martin sacked by Christmas, you heard it here first!
Firstly, I’d like to have Nathan Jones here
I don’t know how it all works but I assume that Southampton have paid / paying him off which would be Premier League standard wages.
So he gets paid that contracted wage as long as he’s on ‘gardening leave’ and not getting a new club
Southampton would only stop paying this if NJ finds new employment which would mean Cardiff matching NJ’s EPL Southampton wages.
Could we afford / want to pay this type of wage and if not would NJ take a pay cut … I don’t think so to manage our sh1t show of a club
Alternatively I suppose Cardiff could offer less money and Southampton ‘swallow’ the rest and take a smaller hit than having to pay him till his contract ends
Any thoughts on this anyone?
This is very typical in Italy and Spain, where they are maintained by the club receiving full salary. If they move, they have to negotiate with the club what the severance will be. Hence you see the same manager come back in the same season as he's still an employee.
In the UK it is more common to just sack and pay off directly. In all likelihood Jones is unemployed and free to go where he wants. Southampton paid 3 to 4 million to release him from Luton, probably another 1 million a year salary, 3.5 year contract. And people say Gary Madine was bad business lol
Hold tight Manger incoming.
He's had a few clubs but there does seem to be a fair bit of misfortune to some of his departures to be fair to him. He left Watford after a month but that was due to health problems and left Tel Aviv due to war (which is fair enough really). I read also that when at Reims he missed games to visit his ill daughter before being sacked.
