Is this really happening?
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art....html#comments
I came across the article above and could not believe what I was reading. Honestly what is going on in 'education' in the UK.
Thank goodness my two boys 4 and 10 attend small village schools here in the Dordogne.....reminiscent of local schools in the UK in the 50's. They are taught correctly, go on discovery outings to local attractions and landmarks, their 3-course lunches costs me €2.50 a day each - cooked on the premises, fresh food with many bio items...none of this chips and beans rubbish.
I really don't know what could turn the tide back in the UK.

Re: Is this really happening?
Another article designed to wind up the elderly. Do you really think 9 year olds were told to do what the headline suggests?
-
Re: Is this really happening?
well it seems like it...else why is the materiel produced....and some of the comments back it up.

...and as for 'winding up the elderly' I would have thought any parent of whatever age should be appalled.

Nothing can turn back the clock while over 70% of the population don't even know what day of the week it is. I'm so glad all of my kids are already out of here, as it makes watching the country turn to shit more palatable. I do feel sorry for those who are left though, as they will never experience the life that their parents once had, and amazingly some parents are even cheering it on.

SO..you are in denial. I think many people/newspapers would leave themselves open to litigation if not true.
Why do you deny this as being Toryism?....I am sure you can read the same in Labour led newspapers.

There really should be solid regulation to prevent this kind of thing.

I doubt you'd read it in Labour papers or even Tory broadsheets like the Times. It's part of the culture wars campaign. I'm no child psychologist so I can't tell you what's right or wrong how children should be taught sex education.
However this argument has been raging since I was a child. I remember for years the argument for sex education in schools was that many children only learn about these things from their peers in the playground and can sometimes be traumatized by myths to the extent it can cause psychological problems.
My argument is that the Daily Mail are only running this story to stir things up and I doubt any of their teachers have professional knowledge how to teach children sex education. Isn't it far better children learn these facts of life in an authoritative safe environment rather than be exposed to lies and exploitation elsewhere?

That’s my point.
There is way too much disinformation out there and there should be serious consequences for publishing lies.

Absolutely true, I agree entirely

mmm...there was a quote many decades ago from a young lady who testified along the lines (albeit in the singular ..) that "well they would say that wouldn't they"

My point exactly! The Daily Mail would say that anyway. Apart from a clutch of Tory nutters they even quote Laurence Fox! That should tell you everything. Far be it for me to say but you could do a lot better than reading populist trash like the Daily Mail.

Re: Is this really happening?
...each to their own poison.....
I look forward to litigation against them if the Daily Mail et al are proved incorrect.

Re: Is this really happening?
Not that I wanted to click a link or worse read an article in that absolute dogshit of a 'news'paper
but from a quick scan of that, other than the headline, it doesn't say any of this is being taught. it basically says there are some questionable teaching materials available online somewhere. "MailOnline can reveal that a wealth of questionable teaching resources are already available online. Colouring books, word searches and cartoon drawings have also been given to young girls and boys by 'activist teachers' in their 'overarching mission to sexualise children in the name of inclusion'."
it's like someone reporting that all asylum seekers are terrorists because there's a terrorist online and...
oh

I’d be interested to know why an article that names no teachers, cites no examples and refers to material that has no identified source would bring ostriches and sand to mind, or be litigious
Not sure why anyone would see it as relevant at all

Re: Is this really happening?
A number of schools and local authorities are named, several have not responded.
Surely the very fact that this materiel is being peddled to such age groups should cause any rational being to be concerned.
Then people wonder why they have problems in later life.
If you cannot see the decay that is creeping into society under the guise of education, there is nothing left for me to say.
