For me Meite by far the more complete team player, but Ugbo is the one getting the goals right now and that's the main thing you will judge them on. If Meite can put a couple away and get some confidence back in front of goal, there's prior evidence he can be a very good striker at this level. Ugbo probably more of an impact sub if we want to be around the playoffs.
Think that first one was a very difficult chance and as you note he did well to get the space from the defender and get on the end of it.. just went the wrong side of the post. His movement in the box is good, but IMO elsewhere it's a clear drop off to what Tanner, Bowler or Grant offer out wide or what Meite offers as a target forward in terms of overall team build up play.Quote:

Looked tired last night but probably because he does more work than Grant and Meite put together usually.
He definitely works hard and makes room for other players. However, we seem to have had our fair share of similar forwards who don't actually score too many goals themselves. We shouldn't be writing off Ugbo, especially since he scored a couple early on. But he needs to get on the score sheet soon if he wants to keep his place.Quote:

I'd start Etete against Sunderland. He looks our most natural striker. Would understand if it was Meite, but he does not look a natural through the middle.
Ugbo had three goals in four games at one point in a new team, he is fast on the ground, but not quite as fast in the mind, we need a new Striker in January, but until then he's probably the best we have, he's very hard working and obviously a lot of his hard work is being missed by some fans.Quote:

I've been a bit meh about Ugbo from day one, but, actually, I think he's not done badly in the last two games. He may not be a "fox in the box" type, but not too many of his size are these days, the goals he's scored for us so far have all been "right place, right time" type goals like most of Kaba's were and I reckon he offers a bit more in things like build up play than Sory did.
Completely agree with you ToBW, although I do think Kaba was much better at holding up the ball and playing it out to the wings.Quote:

In certain teams with not many goal scorers then 100% you would start him every game, last season he'd have been very useful for us.
But for the first time in a long time we've got quite a few players who can stick the ball in the back of the net, so players who can hold up the ball better e.g. Meite may be better for the team.
As much as I like Harris, there's no doubt Ugbo is far better.
Yes. We're scoring a lot of goals and he's got a good tally so far himself, so something must be working.
