Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Good team in a good bit of form, 4th in the league, won four of the last five, and drew the other, this a very difficult game, but we are on top form too, so it should be a cracker anything can happen!
Eleven goals in their last three games, SHOULD be high scoring.
Clarke has scored five in three games.
Blackburn 1 - 3 Sunderland
QPR 1 - 3 Sunderland
Sunderland 5 - 0 Southampton
Coventry 0 - 0 Sunderland
Sunderland 2 - 1 Rotherham

I saw highlights of their game against Blackburn. Blackburn will be kicking themselves, they missed some real gilt-edged chances.

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
No new injuries which is amazing, it was a rough game at Coventry I was expecting Tanner and Grant at at least they were clattered and limping around, that's great news!
O'Dowda is running and Bowler is still out, hopefully, because we have a strong squad and we don't have to rush them back and potentially lose them for longer.
We are starting to look like a well-run club with a strong squad and a very positive manager.

Ryan Wintle playing more advanced…
We had a different system against Coventry, a 4-3-3. I wanted my No.8s, Rallsy and Wints to be more offensive and it was a great assist for him.
I said to him that what he showed me until now, he could give much more. He has that quality. Before he was playing safe passes from A to B, B to A. I wanted more passes in behind the defence, between the lines. He has to take more risks. If he makes a mistake, he makes a mistake, football is like this.
If you try, try, try, it will happen. So I am pushing him for this and other players for other things. We cannot always play safe football. We want to attack and sometimes you have to play with risk.
So now he is trying to do it and he is doing it well.

From what I've seen recently the movement off the ball has improved beyond measure, so players can make more probing passes. Our front line has been so static for seasons that it hardly helped when creating chances.
As for taking risks, there's nothing wrong with keeping possession from time to time to take the sting out of the game, either. If you've got the ball, the other team can't score.

This! is not a must win match but a draw would be better than an ass kicking

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
get yourself iptv, load it on a firestick and conect your firestick to the hotel tv. If you dont have wifi connect you stick to your phone mobile data. Otherwise go for a drink and keep updated on livescores.

quite a few android TV boxes with a higher spec than a firestick.
I'm still running an Nvidia shield from quite a few years ago that runs things a lot faster than on the firestick.
Streams that were completely unwatchable on the fire stick run flawlessly on the nvidia shield.
Hopefully they bring out an updated version soon as they haven't refreshed it since 2019

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
That’s interesting to know. I have the 4K firestick which seems to work well

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
With Bowler and O'Dowda still out and surely some tired players It'll be interesting to see the line up. Personally I like to Robinson get a start - either up front or switching with Meite to the flank. Tanner to come off the bench given he cramped up and looked spent against Coventry.
.............Alnwick
Ng ...Goutas.....McG....Collins
........Siopis.....Ralls
...........Rambo
Meite...Robo.....Grant

If there is a stream Rachel's on the Rincon will show it as long as there are no Premier League matches. Yes they do stream matches not on Sky or BENIN. Used to live there so Rachel's is the most likely place.

We'll absolutely smash this shower of sub-geordie shite. 3-1 to Cardiff NQAT.

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Why is this game 3pm Sunday is it on something other than Sky?

He seems to be easing Robinson back after injury.
I think it will be that team but with Ugbo or Tanner instead of Robinson.

Wintle for Ralls, Tanner starting and Etete up front
The message to Etete, do your job that you’re there to do, if not there’s the bench
Sunderland are really on form, so a draw would be a good result

Not sure on Etete I think he needs to do more off the bench more regularly. Against Coventry was a good start, good goal and finish.
I notice Bulut said he needs to grow “muscles” and totally agree, he needs to be stronger and more aggressive if he wants to be the focal point of the team.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I think the back 5 picks itself at the moment.
Either Wintle or Ralls alongside Siopsis and Ramsey.
Up front may come down to fitness. Bowler and O Dowda are out. So if fit id go Tanner Meite Grant.
Robinson isnt going to be fully fit so id have him and Ugbo missing out.
I dont really see Etete as a consideration to start.

yeah he definitely needs to learn to use his physicality.
maybe like Jay Bothroyd who became a very different player when he was with us to how he had been earlier in his career

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
It frustrates me that Robinson, who was one bright thing in last season’s dismal campaign, is rarely used but looking at the big picture it could be that it’s very good management of a player who needs to be eased back in after injury. Having a decent squad certainly eases the blow of not having to rush a good player back. Early days but it seems as though some very astute business has been done in the transfer market.

I share your frustration regarding Robinson. It seems like he's been unavailable, more often than not, since he joined us.

jack Clarke has been their star man so far this season, attacking down the left, so Ng will need to be on it defensively and whichever winger is ahead of him will need to work hard as well. I think Tanner might be a second half sub again

Games always on Cardiff city TV if game not 3pm Saturday or on Sky.
Best watched with commentary muted though.
