If we end up in the running for promotion, our end of season crowds will eclipse yesterday's.

Well let's hope so
I am surprised at Ipswichs home and away support
Ipswich is a small place and they are out on a limb but fair play to them
-
Re: Championship attendances this weekend
Watford and QPR pretty much sold out too. Only Blackburn with what may be considered a poor crowd (13000)

Both Ipswich and Norwich. Perhaps there's not much else to do there, but I've always thought that the clubs are a huge part of their communities. Both sides have also had more success than us over the last few decades.

Are you surprised? Who on earth wants to see the Jacks?

QPR regularly have good crowds, but that's down to their capacity as much as anything.

Did you mean to say 'rarely'?

Hadn't read this but again we agree, what's going on :hehe:

Given that more season tickets were sold this season than last, despite a relegation battle last season, I reckon your 15k prediction is a load of bollocks, like all of your attendance predictions where Cardiff are concerned.

There was a reason for that though, but you are spot on.
Even non league are getting record attendances but I guess that’s helped by a few fairly big former league clubs who are now playing outside of the league structure.
-
Re: Championship attendances this weekend
The last full decade Ipswich averaged about 18000 so they are clearly a town full of plastics who only come out when they are winning

Please give yourself a head wobble
If CCFC were without a win as Wednesday were then the crowds for the Swansea and Bristol City games would have been a lot lower and we would have the ridiculous situation of a crowd of 16000 being announced and there being barely 14000 in the ground

I was very happy with the Swansea and Bristol attendances but if were were struggling and without a win like Wednesday we simply wouldn't get the crowds
It's always been our problem and it always will be . Our loyal fans are great . The reality is there just isn't enough of them .

Norwich maybe, with their premiership seasons. But Ipswich last 20 years are nowhere near us in achievement Eric. They have not played in top flight and we reached two major domestic cup finals to their none.

Didn’t used to be so huge at Roker park though, quite average crowds? Why so big now? Would they get 60/70,000 if they could? I doubt it…the place isn’t even very big. reckon they just have very loyal support right now

I would imagine they were relatively big at the old Roker.

Population of the city of Sunderland is 277,000
Population of the city of Newcastle is 300,000
Both smaller than Cardiff but not much between the two of them.

You're the one who reckons we'd have lower crowds despite higher season ticket sales. If my head needs a wobble, god knows what yours needs.
If you recall, we lost our opening league game at home and were utter gash against the worst team in the division. Yet we still had over 21k for a midweek game a few days after the jacks and over 20k for the visit of Rotherham.
If you still seriously think we'd have lost 6-7k of those fans you're utterly deluded.
In fact, while we're at it, there's little point discussing our attendances with you. Every time someone does, you come out with the old yarn of thousands of City fans deserting the club at the first sign of regardless of what evidence is thrown at you. Give it a rest. You're wrong again, you'll keep being wrong and it's getting tedious showing you up time and again.

They were also one of the more successful clubs in the late 70s and early 80s, more successful than we've ever been. Families keep supporting the club. They never lost a generation while bobbing about in the bottom division. We're still recovering from that.

You are not showing anyone up
We are not a well supported club and never have been
We are able to draw big gates but not regularly enough
Sheffield Wednesday despite a shocking start to the season had around 25 thousand home fans through the turnstiles when they got their first win of the season a few days ago
It was nearly November

Re: Championship attendances this weekend
Sunderland have the 12th best average attendance for the country in their history. However their pre first world war averages really drag the average down as they got under 15000 regularly in the formative years
We're ranked 32 but we didn't have any pre first world war attendances. Two seasons in the 80/early 90 we averaged under 3000
