Re: Matt Hancock - let’s delay releasing the new variant
Thrilling stuff today. Let's hope if, God forbid, we ever suffer a pandemic again we won't have a Tory government in charge. It's far worse than I thought it might have been.
-
Re: Matt Hancock - let’s delay releasing the new variant
Anyone who thought Brexit was a good idea (for the country not themselves of course) were not fit to govern in any circumstance.

They would have all done the same thing FFS are you that dumb they all did little small changes to make out the whole thing was unplanned.
It was all pre planned and of little consequence to most of the population, otherwise the people in charge. Would have been in bunkers locked away not doing their own things.

It would be Nature's way of dealing with about half the contributors on this forum then, myself included!
Maybe the virus was brought to the UK by Theresa May when she visited Wuhan in 2018, stored in Downing St., then released at the right time as part of a cunning plan to cull pensioners and thus avoid the triple lock dilemma.

Re: Matt Hancock - let’s delay releasing the new variant
I would have thought under normal circumstances causing fear and alarm on the public would be deemed a criminal offence.
Still you had the dancing nurses :hehe:

I think he may have said it because of the data presented to him to be fair for context but we knew that anyway

Don't show yourself to be more stupid than we know you are bra. A Labour government would have handled it differently but greedy business types like you would be winging even more because the lockdowns would likely be longer and you'd be whinging more because of the precious Dosh you would have lost.

Dave, it want that they thought Brexit was good for the country: Brexit was good for themselves. That's how Johnson and his shitshow got to power and gave us the worst government in living memory.

And the idiot didn't quite appreciate he was talking about his chief cohort of supporters. Apart from anything else he wasn't the brightest occupant of no. 10 we've ever had.

Imagine corbyn had been in control, another dithering Drakeford ffs. Where is he now? Still dressed up as a gimp in some bunker on the outskirts of Moscow ? Whoever would have been in control would have been woeful. Still, you can’t argue with the average age of those who did die, 82 was it?

Re: Matt Hancock - let’s delay releasing the new variant
It's quite funny really. Millions of hours, and words, and pounds, and all about swearing and takeaway meals. It's not actually a 'COVID inquiry', that will never happen..

Of course it’s not , otherwise you would have real problems.
Ultimately people should be angry with their governments, who used wildly inaccurate algorithms, deleted what’s app messages, paid friends for government contracts, deliberately manipulated the public with scare tactics , held parties whilst telling the public to stay home (they had the data at hand and still held them - knowing that they must have known there was no risk ) destroyed businesses, closed schools , brought in visual reminders ( masks) spent billions advertising a vaccine with limited effectiveness and didn’t prevent transmission etc etc etc

Re: Matt Hancock - let’s delay releasing the new variant

At last something we can all rally around.
The critique and predictions of underperformance and failure of the UK Governments Test and Trace System was contemporaneously documented on this Board:
How the Epidemic Containment Plan was mothballed;
How Testing and Tracing through established local authority structures was set aside in favour of starting from scratch via a heavily outsourced start up under the direct leadership of someone with no epidemiological background reporting directly to Boris Johnson outside normal Health Service structures;
How Harding and others decided to develop a brand new "world leading" tracing app rather than use established Apple and Google based solutions only to have to scrap it and go down that path much later than it should have been of value;
How people arriving from abroad were let in and later quarantined much too late.
However all these criticisms and predictions came from the Board's resident lemmings. Unfortunately the Gifted and Talented class had either fled the field or had difficulty remembering their old password to be able to contribute.
Testing and Tracing remains a fundamental part of world-wide planning and response to disease outbreaks. Unfortunately the UK governments response was late, ill-governed, ideological and inadequate.

Thanks for that well thought out response.
Just one question. Are the emojis a fundamental part of your response adding meaning to your eloquence or a typo? It's hard to tell sometimes.

I guess all these personas descend into self-parody in the end. Still, spinning on an endless loop (I use the word advisedly) of lockdowns were unnecessary, PPE was useless, testing and tracing is a joke and vaccines are more danger than benefit will keep giving you some delusional self-worth for some time to come!

I think the beauty of free speech is that you’re entitled to your opinion and I’m entitled to mine without fear or favour.it’s clear the government did their best to frighten people and make them comply. Thankfully I was not in that category, and from the evidence that’s available I think I may the correct choices.
Obviously you think differently, so there is nothing else to say is there unless you’re on a trolling mission and you don’t want to go down that route do you bra ?
Now do one lemming

And you not into your 50s. Sounds like a great company to work for.

Re: Matt Hancock - let’s delay releasing the new variant
Just to reiterate how much £37bn is
£37,000 million pounds,
Probably enough money to fund children in need for 18,000 years

Remember what we’ve learned from 2009 & 2020:
In order sell the solution, they have to create the problem.
They create the problem through fear & testing.
Do you see?
