Re: swansea manager sacked
Always thought he was a duff appointment.

Re: swansea manager sacked
Perhaps he’ll go back to the fight game.

Re: swansea manager sacked
Warnock waiting in the wings!
-
Re: swansea manager sacked
Understandable
They’ve given him quite a bit of cash
He’s been backed and to lose to Cardiff is unforgivable down there.
The ‘Swansea Way’ will be their ultimate undoing hopefully. I have absolutely no idea what it means but I believe it’s based on Dutch total football of the 70s
How they expect this with Signings from league 1 is perhaps a little over ambitious
They are only 2 results from the top half of the table which is where both our squads probably line up in the grand scheme of things
To sack him is a bit premature unless they have someone lined up who believes in possession beyond all else which their fans were calling boring last season
Strange bunch

Re: swansea manager sacked
I predict Steve Bruce.
Nathan Jones won't go there.
Would be amusing if Steve Morrison did

Re: swansea manager sacked
The ink on Paul Heckingbottom's P45 won't have time to dry before he speeds down the M4.

I listen to Call Rob on Radio Wales and the general feel I get is that they don't like him because he doesn't play the Swansea way. His comment about being happy to lose the derby if they won promotion went down quicker than a Swansea step-sister and he's been a dead man walking from the start.

That was one of the dumbest comments I've heard from a manager. We didn't (and don't) have a squad anywhere near good enough for promotion, there was no style of play and we have soft tissue injuries galore.

The little purple patch from the Sheffield Wednesday game papered over the cracks; they hit the bar at 1 nil and had he not won that game he'd probably have had his marching orders thwny

If they hadn’t got that late equaliser v Huddersfield they’d be a place off the relegation zone, shocking home form, no clear style anymore, got to get the next manager right or they might go down.

You've articulated that point far better than me and my webbed hands  :hehe:

Swansea City have played nice football since toshack arrived
That's very romantic
But it very often doesn't get them the results they think they deserve
So they throw their toys out of the pram very quickly on the other side of the Briton Ferry bridge
I say bollocks to them

I think that’s a misconception.
They started to get above their station when Martinez took the job.
They were hardly Barcelona lite when John Cornforth was playing for them.

Sacking You Mickey Duff !

Re: swansea manager sacked
Duff to Swansea always looked a very odd move to me, but, given the jacks nearly always get their managerial appointments right, I assumed they knew something I didn’t. Turns out they didn’t and so Duff becomes the latest victim of the “Swansea Way” syndrome - albeit the results he was getting were as much of an issue as the style of football. You have to wonder what some Swansea fans, and maybe the current Board. want though - Steve Cooper wasn’t good enough for them and many of them were glad to see Russell Martin, who you’d have thought would have been their ideal choice, leave.

Graham Potter? Swansea or Sunderland?

Lord only knows. Fact of the matter is we are still paying the price of Jenkins' foray into playing real life championship manager, so we would need an astute managerial appointment, of which Duff clearly wasn't.

There's more chance of Harry Potter becoming our manager

Re: swansea manager sacked
Fingers crossed this one takes them down they really are on the slide and unlike our owner get no backing from their owners.

Re: swansea manager sacked
Mowbray may be a good fit for them

Re: swansea manager sacked
I hear Gareth Ainsworh is available

What is the “Swansea Way” anyway . Ok it was a style of football that brought them success but most teams play this way these days and total football was first coined with the Dutch in the 70’s.
You would almost think it was them who blueprinted it :hehe:
