Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Watford play tonight at Sheff Weds and next Tuesday have a cup replay at Southampton.
Hopefully they will be a little bit distracted on Saturday

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Alnwick
Ng
Phillips
Goutas
Collins
Siopis
Turnbull (presuming he does actually sign)
Ramsey
Colwill
Diedhiou
Grant
Start the new boys, and bring Ramsey straight in. Keep a similar team as we have seen the last few months and it'll be a loss.
2-2 (3-0 Watford if there aren't new faces & Ramsey in the starting XI)

Think Collins will start, Ramsey on bench with Ralls, if fit starting.
Line up starting to look much better now. Pity we missed out on Moore.

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
With a boost from our new players I think we can win this one.
3-1 City

You might very well be right about Collins and Ramsey.
However, I'd like to see us be a bit bold and go with the starting lineup that I posted. Perhaps swap Bowler for Meite.

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Other than Diedhiou and probably Phillips I don’t see the others starting. Also be surprised if Ramsey starts after so long out.

McGuiness - injured/suspended ??

I dont know about the rest but im assuming Bulut's "jobs for the boys" mentality would mean he puts his signing straight in..and Goutas is one of the boys.
Personally other than the last two matches McGuiness has been fantastic for us. We may well be on the way to taking him for granted
edit: theres a pun about grant always getting picked in that last comment somewhere...i just cannot make it work

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Three memories for me of vicarage road
Not being able to see because of the fog - I think we lost 4 - 0 or 4-1
Bellamy giving his shirt to a fan and it started a bit of minor scuffle and the police piled in and made things a whole lot worse
Anthony Gerard catching the mascot square on the head with the ball in the half time warm up ( I think) and celebrating like he had scored a goal 😂😂

What on earth are you on about "jobs for the boys" ?

Every manager brings in players or staff they worked with previously. Unfortunately his previous experience does not match up to a league like the championship and nor does the players he previously worked with. The rest im sure you can calculate yourself

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
5 new lads plus Ramsey & Ralls in the 20 tomorrow. Rino, Runnarson, Colwill jnr., Conte & Ashford obvious exclusions. 2 others to lose their places.
2 from Sawyers, Tanner & Etete to lose out?

I would choose Tanner from those three.
Even though he hasn't kicked on from his early season form, he is still a threat off the bench.

Etete just needs to be up front and stay up front..his roaming is killing his game

We all in a better mood today? You wouldn't think we'd signed a load of players and got rid of some useless deadwood.
-
Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I feel like a more positive performance is important today regardless of the result. 3 points would be very nice though.

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Turnbull has to start...
"Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has question why the Glasgow club sanctioned a move for David Turnbull to Cardiff City.
Speaking to the Daily Record, he said: "Celtic got money from Cardiff and it looked like he wanted to go. But sometimes there are greater needs.
“I’m not saying Turnbull is a world-beater but he has an eye for goal. He is the club’s third top scorer this season, and one of the few at the club who knows how to hit a penalty. None of this makes much sense.”

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Alnwick; Ng, Goutas, McGuinness, Collins; Siopis, Wintle; Bowler, Colwill, Grant; Etete.
Transfer window? What transfer window?

A few newbies on the bench though, plus Ramsey
Turner, Romeo, Ramsey, Phillips, Turnbull, Diedhiou, Meite, Wilson-Esbrand, Tanner

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Predictable but thought the striker might have started.

He is one of the ones I had down as not starting, hasn't played a lot I think he will need a few sub appearances to build up minutes.

Ah didn’t realise he hadn’t been playing. Then no surprise none started really.
