Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Lovely run by O'Dowda who sets up Robinson to score from twenty yards.L
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Kpakio looks very assured at right back
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Second goal for Robinson after being fed by the impressive Kpakio.
Another. assist by Kpakio, this time for O'Dowda.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Who is Kpakio?
I presume he's an academy player. Is he a new signing.? How old?
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
3 - 0
We seem to have a glut of right backs now: Ng, Romeo, Conte, Kpakio, Chambers (if not CB).... and probably others in the wider training group.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Bit of help if possible, please.
I have an international season pass but for Saturday's game and today I am only receiving audio and no pictures.
It's not asking me to log in beforehand which isn't usual so any suggestions, I must be missing something

I've emailed City tv for help but they only replied 24 hours after Saturday's game and no response as yet today.

I think they aren't offering video to us poor buggers who have the international pass. I think you may have to give them another 5 quid while "being located" in the UK. I thought this was a pretty shabby move by the club.

It’s very easy to get in for me, just click on Live and then there’s an audio button and a video one as well, just click on that and you get the pictures straight away - I take it you’re not getting the video button?

Someone's pulled the plug out.
Is everyone offline?
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Another well worked goal, Conte after a one two with Turnbull
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
And now another from Evans after a good run by Tanner
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Yes, but it's just come back on - 5-0 now, Keiron Evans got the fifth, Conte with the other one.

Thanks for reply, Bob, I'd noticed it's not showing a choice of audio / video as normal but didn't think they'd be so shabby as to seek another fiver from international fans for a pre-season game :indifferent: I presume it will be ok for 10 August.
Traveling back in a few days to see the family etc. and hopefully will be there for the Reading friendly.
Thanks, also to AZ City (with Greetings)

Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Does Kpakio look like he’ll be able to start a championship match
Secondly how the hell do you pronounce his name? I assume the first K is silent
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
6-1, Joel Colwill set up by Ashford for the sixth.
7-1, Ashford.

The commentators are calling him 'Kerpackio' - but that is no guarantee it is the right pronunciation.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PENYBONT. Match thread
Finished 7-1, the commentator was right to say we were getting more players into the box when we attacked.

Our attacking coach is working marvels.

Only Will Spiers, who is an 18 year old 1st year pro.
Hs there been any news on Romeo?

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 7 - 1 PENYBONT. Match thread
Some very good individual performances. Bodes well.

He was in a few of the early training videos but then disappeared. Ng was pitch side tonight - along with a few others who didn't play - but I didn't see Romeo.
Not seen Horvath back either. I think everyone else (apart from Adams) has featured at least once (bar Willock, Chambers and Tsunoda).

Have I missed something with Eli King? He went off in Ross County's last game and I don't remember seeing his name mentioned since.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 7 - 1 PENYBONT. Match thread
Enjoyable game. Not the greatest opposition but we played well throughout and there was good link-up play and some excellent goals in there. Third time I've seen Kpakio, third time I've been impressed, very promising. Conte did well when he replaced him at half time too. Plenty of changes through the game but it didn't affect the momentum, we were good from start to finish tonight.

Didn’t he win the bleep test in Week 1 training?
He didn’t play against Kidderminster, Kortrijk or Penybont. Nor did Matthew Turner (Jake Dennis has been the sub goalkeeper).
Can’t remember if either of them played in the behind closed doors match? But even if they did it is odd they haven’t appeared since.
Minor injuries or heading out?
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 7 - 1 PENYBONT. Match thread
Those players who have not appeared so far have to be injured (eg Ng), on the brink of a move like Adams or new signings surely. King must be in the last category.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 7 - 1 PENYBONT. Match thread
Regarding Kpakio, there was a time in my City supporting life when he would have been seriously considered for the first team against Sunderland if Ng was still out injured after a performance like last night’s- does that still apply? Eleven years ago, Malky Mackay picked a seventeen year old Declan John in our first ever Premier League game, how and why has the situation changed in the interim period? Maybe Erol Bulut will prove me wrong if Ng isn’t available for our season opener - after all, Kpakio gave the best right back performance I’ve seen in our three games at Leckwith in the past week against Pen Y Bont.

Sounds like a player

If he looks as impressive against the more difficult teams we have to face then maybe.

Eli King has picked up an injury, I think he may have played a part in the match against Bath. He won the blip test in 2023, but Tom Davies won it this year. Not sure about Turner
