Have we ever played a side from Africa?

seems like they've won the south African league for the last 6 seasons, and get some decent crowds (max of about 28 k last season)

I've looked from 1920/21 to 2012/13 and couldn't find a game we played againat an African team - don't have the fixtures for games since then to hand, but I can't remember us having played a team from that continent in the last ten years or so.

Both 70 rated on Fifa. I know that means the sum total of **** all. in real life but I'd guess its a pretty good indicator as they are usually pretty good with player ratings

according to OPTA power rankings they have Sundowns as the strongest side in all of Africa, and a ranking of about 82 which is similar to Leeds or Leicester this season just gone.
.we had a power rankings of 72 towards the bottom of the Championship.

no idea how that is worked out, but it suggests we could be in for a stern challenge.

that said it's a pre season friendly so it's impossible to read anything into it anyway.

I was just looking for something to compare, but you've found something as well. Tbh we could beat Real Madrid in pre season and it would have no bearing on our season so I ignore the results win or lose.

I've done the logical thing and looked back through Maurices started threads at a few links he uses regularly and they are all showing the same 6 friendlies, none of which include us I'm afraid. Fiver or firebox it is lads :thumbup:
