Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
FFS, easy games he may get this gig by default.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football...s/cp39l2d766vo
Keep looking Tan and have a list of Managers about to be sacked and get in quick!
Failing that all these not bad on paper - Former Plymouth and Stoke manager Steven Schumacher, ex-Croatia boss Slaven Bilic, Charlton's Nathan Jones - a boyhood Bluebirds fan - and current Reading manager Ruben Selles have been linked with the role.

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
is Plymouth an easy game? I thought they'd picked up some good results recently
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
:hehe:
No one will be surprised. The board are giving him every chance because it's the easiest short term decision. Just happy to kick the problem down the road.

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
He shouldn’t be anywhere near a managerial job. Insane, really.
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
preferred Riza when he was in Wu Tang Clan..
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
City briefing that they’re in charge of proceedings and everything’s going as planned, but I’m far from convinced about that.

Your statement couldn't be father from reality imo. I suppose if they dropped in your choice tomorrow you'd be advising everyone to give him a chance-no easy games in the championship. I'm not arguing for him and he wasn't the first ever manager to drop a clanger but on balance City are playing much better generally and maybe they'll wait until the choice they want becomes available because it's not just a manager we need but a coaching team too.
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
It's tricky to work out if he's second favourite with the bookies because they've hint he's a genuine contender for the job, or because the club will take so long to appoint someone that he'll be in charge for at least 10 games anyway.

Half joking with the fixtures, although they look OK on paper, almost as good a short run as he could get.
Bilic is not ready until Jan for some reason, could they be thinking new blokes ticking over to wait for Jan or see what happens in between with Prem sackings?

Could be. If the team hadn't shown significant improvement the last 2 games I think we'd have an new manager in place already..
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
good news for Tanner and Bagan, and arguably Colwill, as even a few more games could see them really cement their place in the starting lineup
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
Well it's clear that even fans who think he has done OK accept an experienced manager is in reality what we need
But that's not the way this club works at the moment and it is what it is
I think people getting stressed by this take up gardening or fishing as there's nothing we can do about it

Yes, I'd agree with that.

Yet come the spring they’ll be expecting supporters to fork out hundreds or, in some instances, thousands of pounds again to watch a club they’ve let go down the tubes with their gross mismanagement in the past decade.

Big risk for vinnie this time, no more pound store managers else he may never get the £200 million he’s blown back….not sure his massive ego would be able to handle league 1? I’m sure Sam will still give him £30 million if relegated mind….

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
This is a deeply unserious football club. If they think he's the answer, fine. I don't though and neither do they. God, it is a mess

I think they've got a pretty good idea what they're letting themselves in for if they don't fix this soon judging by the crowd against Millwall. There was loads missing, presumably season ticket holders too. There were a lot of absentees where I was sitting.

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
Most clubs have pretty much signed the replacement before the sacking. Not us. We just seem so unprofessional
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
Feels like we've spent half the year waiting for news on who our manager's going to be.

Bookies still think it's Bilic with Riza holding the fort and in with a chance

I don't entirely agree - if there was a manager we could get and it would guarantee success I think Tan would be happy to pay for it, as the returns on it would be obvious.
However - who would we be able to get that could guarantee the success, even if price wasn't a consideration?
There's nobody.
I think they realise that whoever they appoint - especially with their track record, but looking around the division it applies everywhere - there's a fairly good chance they'll be giving them the sack this time next year.
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
It appears that the board has lost interest completely in the club.
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
My sources tell me (other boards and twatter :hehe:)
It's going to be Bilic, but he's tied until January or Rubén Sellés if he can free himself from Reading.
I suppose it would depend on Riza doing a reasonable job in the meantime, winning the easier games and pulling us away from the bottom before January.

Saw something similar on the other board - isn't it a bit flawed as a plan as it relies on our team being self motivated to perform between now and whatever date someone becomes available and an interim manager without too much power or authority - sounds like a perfect storm so will probably be the route the three stooges will take

Or alternatively we're doing really well under Riza, then in January everything changes.
Either scenario is possible and far from ideal.

15 games till 1st January that's a hell of a lot to trust a caretaker Manager, let's see how the next two go, that may give us a better idea on Riza.

Really worried that without a permanent manager we will be cast adrift at the bottom of the table.
The board have, once again, been slow to act. I hope they, and us, do not live to regret it.

If you told me that we would be in the current position as the international fixtures end, I’d have laughed in your face because I would have thought it would be too ridiculous for words even for this ownership. To be fair to Riza, I’d say he’s only made one bad error in his three games in charge, but what an error that was and, if he is going to make equally bad mistakes every third game until January we’re not going to pull clear of the mess we’re in. If we really are going to wait until January for Bilic (is he really worth it?), then I think we’re taking an enormous risk.

Riza is rising 3/1 as is Mowbray 4/1 and Bilic is dropping 8/1, maybe they are talking to Mowbray?
If not I don't think they won't be able to wait until January, Riza will mess up and they will be forced to make a decision.
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
They're probably giving Riza a couple more games to see if the improvement is genuine or a fluke before making a decision on someone - I don't believe this waiting until January for Bilic nonsense. Most of these rumours are started on twitter by idiots

Actually, with skybet, there is not much in it at all
Riza 5/2 - 28/6%
Mowbray 11/4 - 26.7%

Yes probably and considering Mowbray and others.
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
Riza 2/1 if he wins the next two, but I can't want us to lose them, what a position.
