Re: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Only realised yesterday that they have Luton away on Wednesday night ahead of early kick off Saturday. It feels like we usually get stung with these kindve things (though that's probably bias) but hopefully benefits us!

Guess we want a draw Wednesday

Re: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Yep a draw and a Ryan Hardie red card would be handy too.
-
Re: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Alnwick
Ng
Goutas
Daland
Bagan
Chambers
Mannsverk
Ramsey
Ashford
Robinson
O'Dowda
No clue if Daland is due back, but this line up would be ideal imo. Probably a bit harsh on Rino but think Ng should come back in now.
4-0 City. Yeah you read that correctly.

Great news, that will be a slight advantage, especially for the new players to get up to speed without a game.

Wonder if they’ll be staying in a hotel Friday night? The alternative would be leaving at 8am, at the latest, from Plymouth before the game.
Anyone fancy pulling the fire alarm?

He's potentially out for a while, back injury on the weekend.

Good plan apart from us being the away team :hehe:

Kev, you are "playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order." :hehe:

Any Plymouth based Bluebirds fancy going round town ringing doorbells at 3am? :hehe:

Maybe Salech for Robinson as he would get on the crosses, but Robinson may make better runs?

Luton's last four wins have all been at home:
1-0 v Cardiff (20th)
1-0 v Hull (21st)
2-1 v Stoke (19th)
2-1 v Derby (22nd)
They win their six-pointers but are still bottom of the table.
Weird...
:hehe:

Daland has been hooked 3 times (without counting the Stoke debacle), why would you move Bagan after he played well?

Because I don't think this is a game for Alves, Willock or AEG. O'Dowda is the only winger we have that can be relied upon to put a defensive shift in, he's also better than the three aforementioned out wide, so Bagan will have to go to left back in my line up.

Are they only 6 pointers if the games have been played home and away, in which case they'd be 12-pointers?

Re: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Plymouth fans are thinking...we have Luton and Cardiff at home, win those and we are out of the bottom three.

Absolutely- and against 2 sides who just can’t win a game away from home

Actually just noticed Plymouth are away to Luton, not at home. Ideally I guess we need a draw to keep both below us

Recent form https://www.soccerstats.com/formtabl...oogle_vignette
Based on the last four games Plymouth sixth and a win against Liverpool, this is a tough game, we need to start well.

In current form, you'd expect a Plymouth win, but all good and bad runs come to an end in the Championship. It is good they both have a mid week game though.

They're yet to win away from home this season though, but as you say, all runs come to an end.
6 of Luton's 7 wins were at home.

Re: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
As Saturday morning approaches I am getting nervous about this game.
Disappointing that Chapman and Robertson out from midfield, which leaves a MF of the fellow from Alderlecht, Ramsey, Ralls or Rhino. Not enough pace in there for me.
Defence picks itself, up top a number of options, even if Robbo out. Probably Salech with Aves and ElGhazi. Ashford of course could start, but we would have a very young forward line then.
Plymouth are one dimensional, but will put a lot of pressure on us first 20 mins. If we can avoid conceding early they may run out of steam after a tough game last Wednesday.
Can't see us winning, hopefully a draw.
1-1

Surely you don't want to make the actual defence weaker when you're trying to be more defensively sound? Daland is out anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Ryan Hardie's still out injured.

That's bad news for Plymouth, Considering the 'Nice Mess' they've got themselves in to.

Is it this simple
Win = stay up
Lose = going down
