If my old dear was alive she would be at it every day with the hail Mary's
If he lives it will be down to all the prayers and gods love
If he kicks the bucket .....it was God's will to take him into heaven etc etc

Surely if anyone doesn't need other people to have a word with their chosen deity on their behalf it's said deity's representative on earth?
I think it was more if Catharine of Aragon had given birth to a son.
Monarchs frequently had mistresses and illegitimate children - if he just wanted to bang around he would have done so (and probably did).
They were married for 24 years - the next 5 wives were all a couple of years each at most and he had an increasingly desperate attempts to secure an heir.
An independent evangelical Church, which means we:-
1. Are not subject to any denominational body, like (for example) the *Baptist Union.
2. We teach the Bible and explain why man made traditions (dead religious practices) are fruitless.
3. Present Jesus Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life.
4. Look to support the community with free lunch clubs, coffee mornings and quiz & curry evenings.
5. Aim to answer peoples questions about Life the Universe and everything via all means including social media.
Thanks for asking.
* I should point out that I have great respect for the majority of Baptist Churches and despite not being a Baptist myself I have spoken in a number of them over the years.
I notice CCMB rules are in play here
Take the piss out of Christians, no problem.
other religuns, islam or another, you are an ist of some sort depending on the religun
as a non practicing Christian i couldn't give a friar tuck, it's the CCMB hypocrisy at play again and the usual suspects.
It wouldn't surprise me if the Pope hasn't already snuffed it but the announcement of his death
will be made public at a suitable time to deflect other news. ( e.g. a Trump peace deal for Ukraine) Cynical me?!!!
This fred is in the bank for future posts when the virtuos come calling with the isms.
What's a non practicing Christian? A Christian who isn't, or one that is such a natural that no training is required?
As to taking the piss, if we ever get a fundamentalist Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, religious Jew, Buddhist, or Jedi Knight carpet bombing this board in the way that Truthpaste does, there would be an equal amount of push back and righteous mockery. Only right!
A fair question (slightly concealed in the obligatory mocking).
Answer: The Curry Nights are purely social, other nights would include an open discussion where any questions can be posed; we also don't mock those who join in who have been told that 'science' provides all the answers and has the truth about humanity whereas God is wrong on most counts, including our origin. And any old book that's true is still true, just like any new science paper isn't necessarily true because it's really new!
So yes, the curry nights are 100% free.
It's curious that you seem to stereotype everyone on here as one, which is utter tosh.
For my part, I see Islam as far worse than what Christianity in The West has morphed into after centuries of cruelty. Although I visit mosques wherever I travel and show respect to its adherents the level of control over the locals is, in my opinion, frightening - and Muslim theocracies can be extremely controlling and intimidating too.
I consider that the current so-called culture wars exist as some people like to consider that there is only Camp A and Camp B and those two camps being at the opposite extremes.
However, there are many people inbetween those two points who see things in a more balanced fashion and appreciate nuance and complexity - and for my part I don't appreciate being dragged into such a binary concept as you suggest.
Like many people, you may find binary issues to be uncomfortable, as people like to sink into the fog that is grey, so that they can be invisible when it comes to where they stand:-
Millions don't like Trump's declaration of Male/ Female because in this and many other areas of life the grey area becomes less hassle, one where I don't have to stand up and explain why I think as I do.
When people gathered at Liverpool docks to hear the fate of their loved ones in 1912, the news finally came through that of its total of 2,240 passengers and crew, only 706 people survived. The majority perished. There were no grey areas.
It will be no different for you, me and the Pope. We will either be saved or we will perish.
Myself and Heathblue have been partaking in Self Flagellation in order to extend our commitment towards the divine one.
I came here to post this, apologies if it is taking the piss out of Christians (I was raised stricter than strict Evangelical, I think I've earned a joke or two)
Can just imagine God saying "Well, I was going to let my chosen representative on earth die a slow painful death, but Mavis from Aberdare asked me to save him just before he went to bed, guess I'll put it on the backburner"
Where do you place people with the following conditions in a binary male/female world?
Turner Syndrome: This condition affects females who have only one X chromosome (45,X) instead of two. It can lead to short stature, delayed puberty, infertility, heart defects, and certain learning disabilities.
Klinefelter Syndrome: Males with this condition have an extra X chromosome (47,XXY). Symptoms can include reduced muscle mass, less facial and body hair, enlarged breast tissue, and infertility.
Triple X Syndrome: Females with this condition have an extra X chromosome (47,XXX). Many women with triple X syndrome have no symptoms or only mild symptoms, but it can sometimes cause tall stature, learning disabilities, and developmental delays.
XYY Syndrome: Males with an extra Y chromosome (47,XYY) may be taller than average and have an increased risk of learning difficulties and behavioural problems.
Swyer Syndrome: Individuals with this condition have XY chromosomes but develop female genitalia. They do not develop functional ovaries or testes and require hormone replacement therapy to go through puberty.
I don't think the above conditions are too difficult to classify, the only sight doubt would occur with the 1 in 80,000 chance of Swyer Syndrome which includes X & Y chromosomes, yet even in this case we read that - "they have normal female reproductive organs, including a uterus, fallopian tubes, and vagina" - so we shouldn't get too confused even in these cases.
