Hull winning 1-0 but down to 10 men

Re: Championship games this PM
Two of the bottom three are 2-0 down, can Blackburn help us out second half?
Notable score in the Premier League,
Liverpool 0 Southampton 1.

If we are going to lose then we need any help we can get:
Latest
Sunderland 2 - 1 Cardiff
Plymouth 0 - 3 Sheff Weds
Burnley 3 - 0 Luton
Derby 2 - 1 Blackburn
Bristol C 1 - 1 Hull
With approx 82 mins played we are 4 points out of the drop zone as it stands.
Elsewhere Liverpool now lead 2 - 1

Re: Championship games this PM
Portsmouth beating Leeds at Fratton Park.
71 mins played. Would take Pompey to 42 points.
-
Re: Championship games this PM
That will be Pompey basically safe if they can hold on. We really need to hope Derby don’t go on a run.
-
Re: Championship games this PM
When we beat Pompey here I thought they and Plymouth were destined for the bottom 2. They were almost as awful as Plymouth the previous home match.
Has been some turnaround.

Yeah three wins on the trot make a big difference - and maybe another today.
Watching this reminded me of the mound in the middle of the pitch due to overseeding over the years. It was noticeable when I played there. As a winger you had to remember to cross six inches higher than usual.
Near record crowd today as well

Re: Championship games this PM
Brilliant win!
That's the old Pompey insular siege mentality for you!

They kept their manager. They shortened the pitch , got Colby Bishop back and changed their style going much more direct and pressing high.
It’s almost Warnock esque but it’s worked, they’re more or less safe now

Re: Championship games this PM
That’s a great result to be fair. Funny though as Leeds thought they were promoted after winning at Sheffield Utd. Portsmouth should be ok as we’ll struggle to reach their current total of 42 points. Derby could pick up another 4 wins to move up but that still might not be enough! I think we’ll finish above Plymouth though they seem to have surrendered

Kind of ironic considering they have Murphy (not to mention Pack in defence).

Also we made Leeds look like prime Real Madrid but Portsmouth got stuck into them. We’re a bunch of pussies by comparison and I’m worried Luton will “bully” us too on Tuesday

Re: Championship games this PM
Would be hilarious if Weeds fall apart again. Great win for Portsmouth means 3 from 7 now to go down I reckon.

And Regan Poole. Pack and Poole kept a clean sheet in a win over Leeds who have won their last five games against us with an aggregate score of 19-2 - you have to laugh or you.’d be crying your eyes out. Results like today’s show Portsmouth have the sort of belief we can only dream about.

It also demonstrates that teams towards the bottom of the table can get results against those at the top. Some of our fans on this board write these games off before a ball has been kicked. They seem to believe they are irrelevant and it's all about the so-called six-pointers. Portsmouth demonstrated today that it isn't. I didn't see the game but I presume they had a good day at the office.

That’s what disappointed me about yesterday’s capitulation.
At home this year, Sunderland have conceded points to Watford, Plymouth, Hull, and Stoke.
I really thought we could grab a point or three if we had the right tactics, attitude, and defensive concentration.

I agree, there’s too much acceptance that we’re going to lose to the likes of Burnley & Sunderland, we’re sleep walking into relegation, it’s 3 from 7 now.
When they interviewed Slot yesterday, he said, you have to go all in from the start. Riza doesn’t we holdback by which time it’s too late.

Re: Championship games this PM
Portsmouth pack out their ground every week and they're noisy and very close to the pitch. I'm sure it's a lot more intimidating to play there than at a half empty Cardiff city stadium

Worse still, the manager and team write the game off before it starts.

Pun intended?
As his lack of pace (aged 46) was found out early on in the Championship, what can you do? Sell him? Dump him in the reserves? Convert him into a ball-playing centre back?
