He has always loved Cardiff - or so we were told!
Footballers in the main do not love clubs but they love themselves!

Re: Talking of Takeover's -Gareth Bale
After the way he p*ssed about with us a couple of years ago, I wasn't happy, I dislike him even more know. He obviously has no affinity to the Bluebirds.

Why did you ever think he did?

Re: Talking of Takeover's -Gareth Bale
Plymouth will have had a new manager, new owners and Ramsey signed by the time we announce BBM.

He would not give Ramsey a contract, only we would waste £3+m on that sort of deal!

As soon as I heard it I thought Red Herring.
Leverage before talking to VT?

How would that work when the clubs have different valuations??

Re: Talking of Takeover's -Gareth Bale
I’m sure he would love to own Cardiff City ….if he could afford it. Plymouth is a far mor attractive possibility to him at this time.

I've never given two hoots for Bale ( Wales aside )
He's never played for us , No real ties to the club other than his uncle Chris Pike.

I doubt it. It’s a poisoned chalice; when things go well (which is rare), everyone loves you. But when things go badly (which is usually the case), you're the one everyone blames.

He looks more like Christian Bale in this pic - maybe there's a mix-up 😉

Err, because of his influence on the pitch, he brought Welsh football to the attention of all of Europe and saw Wales reach a semi final of the European Championship and qualify for a World Cup - and is probably the greatest ever Welsh footballer ( a debate with John Charles) - that’s why he gets “ house room”

This.
And I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a little pang of hurt and disappointment when I read the headline.

You weren't saying that when he was visiting sick kids at the hospital. PA are a shit show and and easy buy option. We are out of his league money wise.

Yes on reflection too angry and unnecessary. No excuse I put it down to having one too many. I accept he was a great footballer but I wish he did more for his hometown club. Ok I know he didn't have to but fronting an ownership bid for Plymouth Argyle instead of City disappointed me. However I take back what I said. He is a great ambassador for Welsh football.

It is, Gareth Bale in a Welsh shirt has given us some of the best football moments of our lives. I feel privileged to have witnessed many of them.

Just cheaper, £20 million for Plymouth? The loon would demand 5 times that fir us due to all the money he’s wasted
-
Re: Talking of Takeover's -Gareth Bale
He's the face of a hedge fund. He won't be putting much in, he won't be able to afford to buy a football club
-
Re: Talking of Takeover's -Gareth Bale
It’s disappointing, but he doesn’t owe Cardiff City anything. One of these people that has a loose link to the City but has never been a true fan (from what I can see)

It’s interesting how a poster slagging off GB gets it tight on here, yet you can call Tan a “Loon” and that’s seems acceptable.
Bale has been absolutely brilliant for Wales and Welsh football, and has rightly got cult status, but has done nothing for his hometown club ( which is his prerogative) On the other hand Tan has got us 2 promotions to the Premier League and steadied a ship that was floundering.at the time he took over.
I’m no Tan apologist and I’m the first to agree that he’s made some strange decisions as well.

Gareth Bale almost single handedly dragged us through to qualifying for Euro 2016 and gave me and my boys some tremendous memories watching Wales in France in the summer of 2016.
Vincent Tan did indeed bring us 2 promotions but outweighed by the 3 relegations! He split the fan base apart with the switch to red ( one of my sons and some good friends haven’t seen a City game since) and all feel good factor following Cardiff left at that point. Yes I enjoyed some of the early games under Warnock in our promotion season but for me Tan destroyed a lot of goodwill at Cardiff over his time in charge , there is now a huge disconnect with the fan base, almost bordering on contempt , and when he goes I will not look back on his period of owning the club with fond memories

Regardless of where you stand on Tan's part in some joyful times for Cardiff City, people very rarely love the owner in the same way as they love the players or manager. He could not have put a foot wrong during his time here and he'd still come nowhere near Gareth Bale for me, who's directly given me some of the best moments of my life. Astute financial management doesn't create the same emotion (if there had been any)

If you read my post again I’m agreeing with you..
Just don’t think the vitriol is required in either case.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Modric's 'investment' in the Jacks is little more than a tax avoidance scheme - same with Bale. Several high net-worth footballers have done the same..
