Andy Rinomhota also likely to leave after talks this week, too

Wrong decision. We will need more battlers than ever this year
My hearts says no, my head says it’s the right decision. Brilliant servant to our club and will go down as one of our legends.
Always felt he give his all for the side, a loyal clubman over many years, not always fully appreciated but for me I was happy to see his name on the team sheet, thanks for the memories Joe and the classy farewell message, hope you find further success wherever you move on to.
Much respect, certified Bluebirds Hall of Famer.
Going forward, we will need a leader in the midfield, now that he and Ramsey are gone.
Hardly anyone stays at the same club that long these days - great loyalty. So many ups and downs during his time here. Hope wherever he goes next is a good move for him.
I hope he gets a decent side, he’s still got much to contribute to the right club.
gets the wage bill down presumably, their hand may have been forced somewhat
Really does feel like the end of an era - I can still recall watching him score twice in a 2-0 win over the wurzels for the Academy team about fifteen years ago. I think football fans are good at spotting phoneys who put on an act with stuff like badge kissing, but Ralls was always genuine for me and the longer he stayed with us, the more he cared. Best wishes for the future to him and l’m sure he’ll get a deserved great welcome if he ever comes to Cardiff City Stadium as an opposition player.
Little bit gutted. All the best to Joe and his family.
All the best Joe. Thanks for service.
Probably best decision for both parties.
Shame to see him leave, but all good things come to an end. I remember being sat in the car at Cardiff Bay Retail Park listening to him scoring against Hull on his debut. Still has a lot to offer at this level (thought he was older than 31), so wouldn't be surprised to see him at CCS this season playing for another League 1 club.
A really classy farewell from Joe there. Not a hint of bitterness, he genuinely wants everyone associated with the club to do well, even the new manager who had to break the news to him.
Nevertheless, it's absolutely the right decision, and for Rinomhota to leave too.
I think a League One club will come in for him, so it might not be the last we see of him. At the very least, an ambitious League Two club might see him as a catalyst to kickstart something.
Good luck, Joe!
I'm sorry to see him go. He's a leader. I wonder how many years he's looking for. I would have given him two. I can't see him getting a big money deal anywhere. But who knows?
A great servent but probably best he wasn't retained as his influence on the pitch has been waning in recent seasons.
For those who are sorry, do you really see him starting many games? He was slow at the best of times and it’s definitely the right decision in the long term. No one can knock his commitment and that’s why everyone will wish him the best.
However it is a club captain gone and in terms of leaders on and off the pitch it’s time for either for someone to step up or bring another one in.
Joe is worthy of ever accolade that comes his way. He has been a great servant to CCFC and even last season put in some very good performances but his ability, not helped by injury, to add many more is doubtful. The time is right for his exit.
We have to make changes to add stimulus as well as application.
if the new manager wants to bring in his own targets then we probably need some room to manoeuvre in the budget
All the best Joe. Great servant for the club. End of an era.
Sounds like BBM making his mark with him and Rino gone.
Joe is a fine servant of our club, who through the years always gave his best.
Thank you Joe, and I wish you all the best for the future.
Best of luck Joe.
Think you can still hack it in the Championship.
Thanks for the memories Joe.
You always gave 100% and became a real leader on and off the field.
And that goal at Hull to announce your arrival was special.
Shame about the injuries that hampered recent years - but best wishes for the rest of your career wherever that is.
Always a Bluebird! :ayatollah:
A real shame, I know football clubs cant have sentiment with Players, but Rallsy can play a number of positions and will give 110% all the time
I thought he might have had 1 more year the moved to the academy ( where he has also been know to show interest )
All the best
dissapointing... id have thought the new contract talks which would have way lower wages for L1 may have been the breaking point, he can more than likely get more money elsewhere
shame though, would have liked to have seen him giving his all to get us back up
Gutted, he deserved a proper send off. I'm sad to see him go, one of the few I actually like
