Trump Announces First Stage Of Israel Gaza Peace Deal 9th October 2025

Israeli Army to withdraw troops to an agreed line

Re: Trump Announces First Stage Of Israel Gaza Peace Deal 9th October 2025
Can’t see how it will last, how many Palestinians slaughtered in the last 2 years? How many kids? They will never forgive the Israelis for this, likewise, the massacre that started it all the other way. Gaza has been destroyed, they won’t pay to rebuild it just for Hamas to sneak back in….

Re: Trump Announces First Stage Of Israel Gaza Peace Deal 9th October 2025
It's plainly good news to wake up to. And in all honesty best left at that.
But yeah there is a long way to go and it's lasting peace that counts and without a Palestinian state I do worry about that but for now people should be happy that peace seems closer than anytime in the last two years.
Goats is right on the extreme pain that both sides will feel there, but I'm not sure it's that different to many wars in the past that have ended. The desire for peace just needs to win out against the desire for retribution.
-
Re: Trump Announces First Stage Of Israel Gaza Peace Deal 9th October 2025
Retribution for the next few years will be a huge issue - it could even skip a few generations but it will always be there.
I remember watching a documentary on the Sunday Bloody Sunday incident where it was stated it was the biggest recruitment vehicle for the IRA at that time.

Spare a thought for the sausages, I hope they get released as well!

Not different to other wars!!!!
It's a virtual one sided slaughter.

Israel will say it began on October 7th
Others will say October 7th has been coming since 1948
Either way let's hope something sticks

It's not even virtual and it's definitely not a war. It's more akin to shooting fish in a barrel.

Will Uncle Donald get any credit for this, or is he still public enemy no 1 on here?

Just think if the previous election wasn't stolen, 1000s of Palestinians would be Alive today, Stolen elections and TDS has consequences.

Do you think he deserves it after funding a genocide for the last 9 months?

No one is saying its exactly the same as every other war. All wars are unique.
What I was saying is that like all wars people on both sides will have to overcome the desire for retribution.
In that sense it is like pretty much every war in history.

I’ll give 6-12 months before the IDF go and flatten it completely. There won’t be a thing to stop them when they get the hostages back

EH ?
Which Part ?
No Stolen election, then this process might have started 4 Years ago.
How many lives have been lost in the 4 years ?
FWIW i do not think it will last, but hopeful that it does, the controlling hand over the world leaders IMO will see to it that it fails,
harmony isn't good for the military industrial complex. Acknowledging the toxic vaccine isn't good for big pharma, failing to deal with immigration keeps the populations fighting and continued chaos, continued chaos allows the controlling hand via their puppet governments to implement draconian regulations and laws, hope you have invested in some Gold and Silver

If Israel as well as Hamas agreed to a ceasefire - why did they carry on killing Palestinian civilians for at least half a day after announcing it?
Was it a ‘**** you’ sign off by the IOF?

Has there been a single post on here in cautious praise of the ending of the war from those supposedly most opposed to it yet?
Apologies if I missed it.

Well I would imagine its to keep pressing for a Palestinian state or at least greater autonomy
I am not an expert but I would think pro Palestine marches are likely to lead to less deaths even if they continue whilst it appears the IDF are supposed to have stopped bombing

Because Israeli forces continued to kill Palestinian civilians after announcing it.
Because the last ceasefire in late January was broken by Israel in early March (as they broke the previous ceasefires).
Because there is no plan for Israel-Palestine just a series of bullet points and pressure needs to be kept up for a genuine peace plan to appear.
Because Palestinians are not included in the process.
Because there is no genuine commitment to a Palestinian state.
Because the aid and reconstruction has to happen quickly and so far very little has happened.
Because Netanyahu is already redefining the so called plan to appease his government allies and domestic audience.
Because the remaining Israeli hostages should be released but less than 25% of Palestinian hostages (held without charge for years by military courts in conditions that often involve torture and death from abuse - including 400 children) will be. The rest stay behind the barbed wire.
Because the process is being led by Trump, Blair and Netanyahu with Starmer clapping in the wings - any sane person would want to hold them to account.
And that is just for starters!

Re: Trump Announces First Stage Of Israel Gaza Peace Deal 9th October 2025
The IDF bombed Lebanon again overnight - as they have done dozens of times since agreeing to a ceasefire in November 2024.
They also put out a statement confirming they would be withdrawing to new positions that mean they will continue to occupy 50% of Gaza, but felt free to continue with attacks on Palestinians if they could justify them as ‘defensive’ - which looks like short hand for the ceasefire doesn’t apply to them.

Re: Trump Announces First Stage Of Israel Gaza Peace Deal 9th October 2025
Sludge and Delmbox. You yourselves , I, and billions of others all over the world wanted to see an end to this latest conflict, kick started this time by Hamas. As we all do the war in Ukraine, and countless others.
Against all the odds, we now have a cease fire, except in Jon 1959’ s head.
All the reasons he’s put in his answer, can still be achieved if both sides are sincere in wanting peace. Is that likely? Not going by history, but you just never know. You can’t change history, but you can’ learn from it.
I feel people like Jon 1959, and many others, would be upset if they had nothing to March or protest about.

This is a bizarre post, I'm not sure if you're being incredibly naive or deliberately obtuse.

^ by your own admission, the list of reasons in his answer as to why people are still protesting haven't been achieved yet but at the same time you can't understand why people are still protesting?
I'm incredibly thankful that there's currently a ceasefire of sorts, and although I think Trump is a sociopathic wannabe dictator I think his unique style of diplomacy is a big part why it's happened so although I wish he'd pushed 9 months ago to stop a genocide rather than fund it, I give him credit for that. But your posts take a wildly simplistic view of the situation, all the issues that existed before Oct 7th haven't been fixed by what's happened since, the last two years haven't been a blip in an otherwise stable region.
The fight for Palestinian freedom has been going on for a long long time, you might not care and that's your business, but I don't understand the sneering at someone like Jon1959 who cares about something bigger than his own 4 walls and puts his money where his mouth is by protesting etc.
And I'm sorry but your last sentence is utterly ridiculous. Maybe you only care about you and your own, or maybe you care about bigger issues but not enough to try and do your small bit to help them - that's your right and you're not alone in that (in fact you're probably in a big majority). But not everybody is built that way, and aiming potshots from the sidelines at people who give a shit about causes unrelated to them isn't something to be proud of.

It’s you who’s being naive. These protests in the UK do fu*k all to change things. If protests and march’s achieved anything other than giving the protesters an achievement of self gratification there wouldn’t be any wars or atrocities. It’s heads of states who start wars and stop wars, not protestors.
If Jon 1959 and others want to help the cause, take sabbaticals and go help the Palestinians by volunteering to help get them back on their feet.
Standing at protests and going on marches holding up banners is like pissing into the wind.
