Reform wheeled out all of their big hitters and were very confident of a win, well done Caerphilly for sending them packing.
A large amount of tactical voting seems to have won the day.
Clearly Reform will still be a force in the elections in May however.

I cant see any scenario where either Reform on their own, or a Reform and Tory combo, will get half of the vote next May, so they wont be the party in power in Wales.

I do think that breaking up of Labour's dominance is a good thing - an this is coming from a long time Labour voter.

Immigration and I was pleased to see that, but thought it could be their downfall in this climate.
I know Reform won a lot of votes, but its hard to see how this can be seen as anything other than a catastrophe for them. It was there for the taking, Labour vote collapsed, Tories in disarray, and Reform threw absolutely everyone and everything at winning this seat. Tice, Farage, Zia, 3 party Lee, they were all camped out in Caerphilly. The only one I think didnt attend was Dorries, and lets be honest they probably asked the disaster-woman not to. They probably wont want to let her near question time again either.
By the results, Farage and co all did a runner. Llyr didnt give a speech. If it was such an impressive result rather than a complete failure, I wonder why that was.

The sad thing at the moment is that most people I talk to will be voting based on stopping someone else winning rather than really wanting the party they are voting for - it seems it's a race to the bottom for politics at the moment

Plaid had more votes than Labour and Reform combined. The result wasn't even close in the end.

As a minimum the Barnett formula needs modernising, rail investment needs devolving and so does the crown estate. That would give us greater parity with Scotland and Northern Ireland

I think there are three main issues.
Bed blocking due to inadequate social care systems in place. Privatisation/profiteering and austerity affecting local authority budgets are significant contributors to this. We need a national care service to compliment the national health service.
Lack of access to GPs which puts pressure on a&e and by association the ambulance service who cannot offload patients and end up queuing.
Queue jumping by those willing and able to afford it as it is often the same specialists treating the jumpers and the queuers
