Re: Heating On? Yes or No?
When i saw the thread title i started twitching and irritated, if i had my way it would never go on, i can't stand central heating, and not because i'm an advocate of Peter hitchens theory that the introduction of central heating in houses contributed towards the breakdown of the family unit (if anyone can take a guess to what he means, then you win a lollipop.
I live with two females who are eternally cold, i put a log burner in two of the rooms downstairs so that i could isolate them both and it meant that i could get dead wood from the wooded areas around my area. End of February is summer in my house, so the heating goes off, back on end of November, for 1 hour a day. Got to think of the planet (that's what i tell my wife)

Re: Heating On? Yes or No?
It's been turned off for a month. I hope to not switch it back on until October.
-
Re: Heating On? Yes or No?
I never actually turn it off - I have the stat set fairly low, so it hasn't fired up for a couple of months now.

Same here, but it has come on a couple of times in the evenings in the last week.
I need to turn it down a bit.

You really should put it on now & again, to make sure it’s working before winter kicks in !
Ours is always left on, but down low
Plus, with this rain, the Mrs uses it to dry the washing, as it’s cheaper than the tumble dryer

It's because women don't understand a thermostat. Which is why I turn mine off.

Exactly!
Mrs H walks around barefoot with a thin top on - "is the heating on? I'm freezing!" - stat reads 19 degrees!
