The match in question is Sunderland visiting Ninian in 1980 .
Oooh I remember this one if my memory serves me right , plenty of rucking in the Grange they brought thousands ??
They had either just been promoted or needed a result to go up , I can’t remember which.
However , I do remember there were thousands of the buggers there and one of them tried to knick my scarf.
Sunderland we’re given all of the ground bar the Bob Bank that day if I remember rightly. It was our last match of the season, but Sunderland still had another one left to play and I believe their promotion was confirmed in that game.
Is this the one where we cashed in by putting the price up for away fans for one day only
