The Great British Holiday Getaway Nightmare
Watching the scenes from Dover today explains why I can't be arsed to travel abroad and would rather go on holiday in West Wales
Staffing levels disaster
Motorway closed due to a lorry crash
Everyone decides to piss off as soon as the schools break up .....you daft idiots
Delays expected anyway due to covid and brexit checks
7 hour delays
Why do people put themselves through so much stress ?
Kids get your bucket and spade your uncle is taking you to Tenby for fish and chips

Re: The Great British Holiday Getaway Nightmare
I drove 75 miles to Bluestone earlier in around 90 minutes and that included 15-20 minutes in traffic at the roadworks between Backs to Glyneath Bank. Here til Monday then flying to Croatia for a week on Tuesday.
In a lodge with the in-laws. Had an argument with her step father over politics. He thinks Boris is great. Clown.

You've morphed into the board's Victor Meldrew. Moan, moan, fecking moan.
Mind, I prefer reading compaints about this topic instead of the weather.
I swear had you messaged me with one more update concerning how sweaty your scrotum had become then I'd have visited yours to summarily dropkick you over your garden fence into next door's cabbage patch.

When it was being built I worked for the company that built their website and integrated it with the booking system. They got very upset when we said like Centreparks.

I used to take my family all over the UK for holidays.
It always amused me when, say, on the Isle of Wight, lots of people were holidaying there who lived in Portsmouth.
Similarly lots of Yorkshire folk holidayed in... Yorkshire!
Why go on holiday to somewhere you can visit on a day-trip?
We always tried to go far afield to different areas.

Re: The Great British Holiday Getaway Nightmare
I drove to Cardiff from Bristol yesterday leaving about 4 PM.
The queue to go through the Brynglas tunnel started just after J19 of the M4, It's crazy.
Welsh government plans for the roads, speed limits tolls etc. and their need to put everything past Cardiff taxi drivers will result in empty factories all over south Wales

Taxi drivers love the 20mph limits. They were barely doing 20 in the city before - now it's more like 15mph, as their meters go 'tick tick tick...'

Yeah had a couple of pints and kids had a bite to eat im the beer garden yesterday afternoon, it was decent. Not as expensive as I thought. £5.30 a pint of Moretti.
We staying right by the central village in a 12 berth lodge.
I’m just off out for stroll down one of the trails, I can’t sit in the lodge talking politics at 9am.

This was Center parcs though, we would park the car on the Friday and it wouldnt move, kids would spend hours in the pool, go for a bike ride, and one of the following per day crazy golf, geo caching or rock climbing
get in car on the Monday afternoon after another day in the pool

Re: The Great British Holiday Getaway Nightmare
Last couple of years have holidayed in the Suffolk/ Norfolk area.
Stunning coastlines, relatively uncrowded and great value.
Bit of a trek from just about everywhere but very relaxing once there.
Locals are a slight worry , think Forest of Dean but even more isolated, but once you get past their Jeremy Clarkson should be running the country mindset they are ok.
