Never been to either, but I have heard Riverside Cantonese is good, just under the bridge into Canton, used to be the old Ninian Pub.
I’ve been there 2 or 3 times with the wife and two young kids and the food was great. My only gripe was thatafter I asked for squash for the kids, a waiter had to run to Asda to get a bottle.
I’d agree with the poster above though, the Riverside Cantonese is much nicer.
Yes, I have had a couple of meals there... It was very good.

My mrs is from Hong Kong and she wasn't that impressed with either

So that's Vietnamese, not Chinese. We have been there a few times, its pretty good, although it's the kind of place that she usually says "why pay £12 for something i can make better than at home" (and she can)Quote:

In Cafe or So Good on Crwys road are also ok, but again she thinks they're too expensive for what they are (which is understandable when you can get better noodles for £1-£2 a bowl in HK)
The Thai Chili basil on city road also got a good review.
