I always sing Davies as well (when I’m having my nostalgic solo singalong moments:hehe:), but I have been known to throw Wilson in on occasion as he was the original ‘keeper in the song.

Aye Bob was our ‘keeper before Fred but due to Davies signing too late, therefore ineligible, Wilson had to make the step up from the Football Combination to our ECWC games in Davies’s first campaign.

He was the ‘go to’ name for goalies over the park, the playground, the street. Any one of the boys having his turn in goals making a decent save always drew shouts of ‘Yashin’. A true legend!
