I was just thinking the same. Yes, we have injuries, but something ain't right.

Captain, arguably the linchpin of the side, injured.
Square pegs in round holes and too many of them.

When today's debacle has sunk in, the anger subsided and the game banished to the annals of history, this is the one that will be remembered.
Cheer up, it was only 5, we ain't Southampton ffs!

Makes you wonder, we’ve literally beaten no one at all

Imagine being crap enough to lose to us in current form.

Thats more like it
Re: Results since extending Mick McCarthy's contract
Stoke was the worst and most frustrating. I think today was no more worse (apart from the result) than others in this sequence.
Re: Results since extending Mick McCarthy's contract
MM came in , steadied the sinking ship , we started winning but like all clubs we have hit a sticky patch
Its football
As sure as night follows day and winter follows autumn it happens
To us , to the jacks , to Liverpool, to Stockport County
Its football
Re: Results since extending Mick McCarthy's contract
We lost both left backs , our new right back who has been excellent since joining with our other 1st choice right back being out for months , now Morrison from the team that did so well upto Bournemouth game.

Is it me or have we changed our shape in the last 5/6 games - the winning run was based on two up front but now it seems Moore plus one behind and lumping it up and hoping for the best?
The other point for me is the high press seems to be missing
Can we just accept we are not good enough and let's blod some of the youngsters - not wholesale but give them some proper game time

Young players won't gain much from playing in a losing team.
Re: Results since extending Mick McCarthy's contract
We're an average side that's hampered with injuries in the full back department which limits out effectiveness in a back 3 system. Mick should ditch the back 3 and get some width back in the side. there's no good reason for us to be playing Bacuna, Ralls, Pack and Vaulks at the same time, that's abysmal from MM.

But will they get a chance in a winning side - so when do they get a chance?
Re: Results since extending Mick McCarthy's contract
During the winning run we played 3-4-2-1 in possession with Bennet and Ng offering width. Front 3 were pressing together. It's all gone to sh*t. Donkey centre backs lumping it and hoping keiffer performs miracles and two midfielders who can't find a pass.
We're back to square one.

I agree re the Stoke game.
It was an awful performance today and tensions are running high but I would be more angry had we not created any chances.
On another day have had five ourselves.
Can't give teams a 3 goal start.
