Great to see the UK leading
Listening to the radio it seems Europe( even the super efficient Germany ) is lagging well behind in procurement and administering the vaccine, not sure if true we've vaccinated more than all of Europe and only lag behind a few others in the world.
Perhaps Europe's desire to go as one was a mistake in hindsight?
That early UK investment and preparation was well thought out and delivered.
My only disappointment is the slow progress in Wales , pharmacies are delivering in England, as we still trial them still , even churches and supermarkets are being readied and used in England.
Anyways well done the UK ( well some of it )

Congratulations. You manage to praise the Tories while having a go at the EU and Labour govt in Wales in one go. There's a surprise....

LOM surprises me, he has documented on here that he grew up in hardship and that it followed him into adulthood, yet he seems to champion every policy and political group that would've probably contributed towards his earlier difficulties. This isn't a pro labour post, because starker; isn't any good, he's already started to cosy up to the right and big boss financial funders.

don't like starmer at all
Re: Great to see the UK leading
Just like they are leading the highest death rate and highest economic damage in Europe while have 20+ miles of sea in every direction, pathetic excuse for a government.
Also 9 months late to close the borders, wasn’t that what Brexit was all about? Useless

I'm still baffled why he was elected as leader. Commentators put the election loss down to Corbyn (obviously) and Labour's BREXIT policy yet the Party elected the man responsible for that policy. Doh!!!!
Re: Great to see the UK leading
Donald Trump was leading in the election when he went to bed.
If it's a race, shouldn't you wait until it's over?

Yep, no problem in praise when due. The government certainly gets a battering every other day, often warranted lately.
The slow and super steady approach from Drakeford isn't a surprise. Can do no wrong though Labour in Wales.

He's a bright bloke but he's no leader
Mind you I want the end of the labour party and a formation of a left of centre opposition as most people don't vote Conservative, a decent alternative without idiots like corbyn and his lot would sweep up , I mean Boris is a complete time bomb

There are a lot of decent women in the Labour Party that would make good leaders - Lisa Nandy, Rachel Reeves and Yvette Cooper to name three. There must have been better candidates than Starmer. I'm surprised you want the Liberals anywhere near the Labour Party given their coalition with the Tories but perhaps you are moving to the right.

No but I realise that this country will never elect a socialist government so I have to try and get as close to that as I can . I would never vote Liberal unless they were the only alternative to the tories . I think the Labour Party is done . Rachel Reeves would make a great leader of a left of centre opposition .

Some would say its false consciousness through cultural hegemony

Labour are finished. Controlled by a managerial class in million pound houses with too much to lose, the modern Labour Party will never bring about real change

Labour are not finished, nor will be, in Wales. The Party can make a mess of many things but will still be elected. Even nationally Labour will have a chance in 4 years time as the Tories will lose popularity as a result of COVID unless they get the vaccination programme right.
The 2008 financial crisis ruined Labour even though in hindsight they handled the crisis reasonably well. COVID may well turn out to be the Tories equivalent.

I think I'm right in saying he was elected leader and effectively Prime Minister with just 90000 votes. Doesn't seem right to me.

It is equally baffling why the Tories voted Johnson as Leader, why the Labour Party voted for Corbyn (and now Starmer) and in the USA why the public voted for Trump. There is something odd going on in political parties as to why they vote for such unsuitable leaders.
As for the voting system I think if you look back in history more people voted for the Tories than Labour even when Labour won elections. It's the system.
Re: Great to see the UK leading
Interesting the Tories are keen to allow country by country comparisons on vaccines but not on COVID deaths...:sherlock:

I dont think that's happened very often. It's certainly going to be a hell of a lot harder for Labour to win with the new 600 seats.
