The team picks itself bar up top, will it be defensive with Wintle and Ugbo, or will it be Robinson or Colwill and Meite, and will it be Bowler or Tanner, It is an interesting team selection this week.

Terrible, like a rough Newport, although I've only been once, maybe someone more local will have a better opinion?

I think Meite is the starting striker when fit, Ugbo on the bench
He should have learned that you need Robinson/Colwill in the 10

I’ve stayed in Penkridge before, it’s half hour away, small town with plenty of pubs. I stayed at the Littleton Arms.

They've won their last three games against, Boro, Leeds, and Sunderland.
Stoke are in good form, this is a tough away game, so I think he will be slightly cautious, but I still fancy us.

Meite has got to start you might as well start with an oat cake up front instead of Ugbo

Being unable to keep the ball in the opposition's half just lets them run straight back at us no matter how much running Wintle does, that's why we need a proper attacking threat. Meite is a better player than Ugbo, puts himself about and is better at holding the ball up. It would be bizarre to revert to Wintle in the 10 following Robinson & Colwill's reactions

Yep, not just Stoke, any team we’re playing, playing on the front foot with a more attack minded midfield has proved effective recently. Starting with a defensive mindset has proved our undoing a few times. Let them worry about us.

Re: STOKE CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Has to be the same lineup, surely.
Give Colwill AT LEAST 30 mins again.
Two in-form teams going at it.
None of this "sitting back wave after wave Sunderland wasn't lucky it was a masterclass" nonsense please.
GET INTO 'EM, we're good enough to have a proper go :ayatollah:

Re: STOKE CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Tough one to predict as Stoke have hit form. On the other hand I reckon man for man we have a better team.
We need to be on the front foot as our front 4 is a match for anyone in the league(Leicester apart) and will score.
Optimistic prediction from me
3-2 Bloobirds.
Safe journey to our 2000 travelling fans.

I agree we have options but it would be the same team for me, especially how well they have played in the last two games and the fact that they've had a full week's rest with no midweek game.
I like the subs also, Tanner bombing up against tired defenders, give Colwill a bit longer, Wintle and Ugbo can be useful if we need to keep a clean sheet with a narrow lead.
Let's see if Bulut trusts them now ?
