6 wins on the trot - FAO Snuggly
Your request for a streak analysis.
This is the 9th time we've won 6 games on the trot (excluding European and Welsh ties). The first to manage it was Fred Steward in 1922. McCandless's almost invincibles in 1946/47 managed 8 on the spin. The only other time we've managed 8 successive wins was under Neil Warnock, when we beat Burton 3-1 at home. We have never managed 7 wins on the trot except under those runs from Warnock and McCandless.
I find it amazing that we were 2 defeats away from the worst losing streak in the club's history, yet are 3 wins away from the best winning streak ever.

Re: 6 wins on the trot - FAO Snuggly
So if we beat Colin and Rooney he'll be joint leading run manager?
That spectacular run by Fulham a few years ago keeps coming to my mind and I'm trying so hard not to think about it!!
And how did you know I'm snuggly? :hehe::hehe:

Yep, 2 more wins for the joint record. Isn't this just the most bizarre season? We're in that sort of form that we could do it, but this is the Championship!
How did I know you're snuggly? Pornhub.

Harris's start last season was the best, so McCarthy's is now. Officially the best starting 8 games ever by a Cardiff manager.

I thought Lennie's was the best ever start of a City manager? Didn't we not lose for fourteen games after he took over from Corky, only for his 1st defeat to be Stoke at home in the Play-offs. Or have I dreamed that all up?

Joint best then! If McCarthy emulates that he'll have done well.

Re: 6 wins on the trot - FAO Snuggly
We won 6 in a row 92/93 season under Eddie May between Jan 23rd and February 19th. We then drew 1-1 with Crewe away and won the next 4 making us undefeated for 11 league games. That season we went up as champions after bringing in Kevin Ratcliffe in January who propelled Cardiff up the table.
If you switch manager for Premiership player both seasons have a few similarities including the dates of the good runs. Hopefully it ends in the same way as well

I just watched 2017 Reading 2 Cardiff 2 on TV. It came up with the stat that previous to that game we were p15 W13 D2. That is astounding

That stat is incorrect. It should have read W8 D4 L3. We lost to Preston, Birmingham and the Wurzels.

That's more credible. I was surprised that I didn't remember it. When we won first 10 home games under MM those stats must have been good. Were we unbeaten away for those 10? Ended against Burton and they did a double (that's what I remember)

If you mean the season under Malky it was against Peterborough, they beat us 2-1 home and away. Burton were still in League 2 at the time
We weren't unbeaten away for those ten, I remember losing 4-2 at Bristol and the 5-4 at Charlton, I assume we lost against some others
We won the league quite easily with a decent points total that season but I remember us having a pretty bumpy end to the season with a lot of draws

Re: 6 wins on the trot - FAO Snuggly
That's worrying. I remember the team was bottom for the home match. At 'east they did the double and got relegated

2017–18 promotion season they (Fulham) only lost one league game and one play-off game after the 16th of December. Only five games were drawn.

That's right. Twey didn't come from 16th, they were already in the play-offs or there abouts, but if they had kept winning they were in danger of knocking us out of the automatic spot.
