Re: Steve Cooper after the game tonight
He reminded me of the old Len Ashurst, "have a shave, you scruffy t**t"

Re: Steve Cooper after the game tonight
Must admit I've been party to poking fun at Cooper's appearance myself but I did feel a bit bad after his interview esrlier as I think he has an eye problem.
No excuse for those Hampsteads mind!

Re: Steve Cooper after the game tonight
Isn’t he a Cardiff fan? Don’t really want to criticise him if he is

Re: Steve Cooper after the game tonight
Would prefer him over Harris any day

Looks wise or as a manager ?
We finished 5th , Swansea finished below us
And we are not out of the play offs yet
Swansea are
Who is the better manager ?

Re: Steve Cooper after the game tonight
Glad he got his payback, for dissing the Brentford player on Sunday.

Since Harris took over at Cardiff, here's how both Cardiff and Swansea have fared.
Cardiff City P 30 W 14 D 10 L 6 F 45 A 35 Pts 52
Swansea City P 30 W 10 D 11 L 9 F 40 A 37 Pts 41
I dare say the biggest thing Cooper has going for him are his contacts.

Re: Steve Cooper after the game tonight
coopers old man is a lifelong cardiff fan , would often see him down the city with his brother
His son has either followed in his dads footsteps which is great or he's done what so many people in this part of the world have done and supported their local side , Manchester United

Cooper has done more with less, has put together a squad with longevity and is a young, forward-thinking manager .
Let’s see how their stats compare in three or four seasons.

Squad with longevity!!!! ????
😂😂😂😂
They havent even got a proper squad under contract!!!
They had a £20m , 80k a week striker as well this season.

Yea I don't get the love in.
Only teams that have really impressed me this year were Leeds (finally did it and did play some decent stuff), Brentford (impressive based on resources and have been around the top 6 a few seasons) and Wigan (squad didn't deserve relegation).
Think we did well 2nd half of the season but still much to improve on.

Why are we comparing two managers that have done very well with relatively very little. Both have gone beyond expectations

Im no saying Cooper hasnt done well with the hand hes been given.
But to say hes built a squad with longevity!!
I mean come on. There was no longevity in their plan. I think 6 or 7 loans??
Load of players with contracts up and a £20m player they will be desperate to move on.
Probably the worst squad built for longevity in the league.

They and he seem to be more focused on using young footballers. That to me is a much more promising sign than a manager who signs experience. I’m not saying Harris is that either but we all know that Cooper has experience working with england youth players and he appears to be more interested in bringing in younger players (whether it be on loan or otherwise), which him appear like the type of person who is more likely to develop something with longevity, starting players young.
This type of situation would be a tonic to the “buy in hardened lower league players Who are 26/27/28”.
I suspect that if it were put to a vote before Harris signed, a majority (or near) would have preferred Cooper as well, and I suspect the reasoning of most would read something similar to what I’ve written here. Maybe the fact he actually has connection to the club/area would also be attractive.

You say that Cooper ‘has done more with less’ but more than who or what - they finished below us and he has achieved nothing - they got knocked out of the playoffs. What else has he achieved ? Also the two best young players they have are on loan and will go back to their Prem clubs now. Hardly longevity is it.

Re: Steve Cooper after the game tonight
Years ago hardly any club had players on loan, every player on the staff was a bona fida member. Has it been the influx of overseas players that have swelled the number of pro footballers in this country? Some Premier League clubs have massive squads, plenty on the bench for every game yet still have loads out on loan. Or are there just more players of a professional standard these days? I don’t know, just asking the question.
