I wasn't so keen on the remake of Cape Fear. not a patch on the original in my opinion
Re: Difficult Films To Watch
As well as Come and See there is another Eastern European film about atrocities in Poland/Ukraine in the second world war called Hatred or Wolyn in Polish
You know something is bloody awful where the Germans are seen as the protectors of the natives whilst the villagers go around butchering each other
Banned in Ukraine - it's a hard watch as you know if society breaks down this would kick off again all over Eastern Europe
This is a very bleak film
Re: Difficult Films To Watch
Eraserhead by David Lynch. Brilliant dark surreal nightmare horror, even better when watching it stoned.

Have you seen Savage Peace ?
Its a documentary about ethnic germans in previously nazi occupied Poland, chezchoslovakia , etc getting hung , raped and butchered by the locals at the end of World War 2 as the nazis retreated to Germany and Russia moved in
Its not pleasant

I remember watching Man Bites Dog and really enjoying it.
I used to love horror films however now I never watch them as once i could detach myself from real life now I cannot.
Both the Human Centipede and the Serbian film are grim

I thought it was bollocks.
Maybe I was too sober.

I haven't seen Repulsion in years. It starts off being this conventional swinging sixties type of film where Catherine Deneuve looks after her sisters apartment in London, then halfway through it morphs into this psychological horror film with scant dialogue.
Very creepy, scary, claustrophobic film.
