Have you still got yours Gavin?
Whenever I am up the valleys and see a skip driver driving like a crazy, I always look to see if its you:hehe:
You could have just said "a red one". :hehe:
I had a 998cc one with an ace of spades on the roof. I loved it but the bottom of the doors rusted terrible.

Great fun to drive. Mine has the 1275 engine and goes well.
Didn't you have one with a Hayabusa engine in it?

I'd like an old Escort, but like you I have nowhere to keep it. I've looked at storage, but prices are a little steep for the sunny Sunday usage I'd get out of it.

Sequential box , engine was in the back . If you search JIMMYJJ111 on utube you will see me walking round it .

I'll take a look.
Rot box pick ups are fetching silly money at the moment, as are the vans. I find the bog standard shape Mini's aren't shooting up in value unless you've got a Cooper or a very limited edition. Bought mine as an investment 8 years ago, but the value hasn't shifted much.
Should have bought something with an RS badge on it.
Re: Anyone on here built their own garage?
If its detached from the house, imho the way forward is timber frame, laplog cladding, fake tiles / slate roof sheeting , i say this as its my new business venture ( garden buildings and garages )
Keep in mind under Permitted development the building cannot be forward of the furthest front elevation , if its down the side, it needs to be under 15m2 ,under 2.5 M in height if within 2M of the boundary
Re: Anyone on here built their own garage?
That's part of the problem - the only site is between the side wall of the house (no windows) and a six-foot boundary wall.
There's enough room, but I'm not sure whether you can have a timber framed building so close to the house. The planning rules are a bit vague.

As far as I am aware, timber is fine, it would be under permitted dev
as long as its under 15 M2 footprint ( which for a beetle would be 5 M X 3 M ) and under 2.5M its fine
Oh and isnt infront of the front elevation of the original house

Re: Anyone on here built their own garage?
We had a prefab concrete one a bit like this built at our old house. Pretty decent. https://www.summergardenbuildings.co...-11903380.html
