Brentford didn’t have to play well.
Right now, there’s at least 17 Premier League teams who know they’ll be taking 6 points off the Bees next season. If they don’t , there’s something drastically wrong. Today they didn’t have to make much effort to win the game , thanks to the poor opposition they faced. Most of the Championship teams would have beat Swansea today, in a game which was eagerly anticipated, but a big anti climax. Bournemouth must be kicking themselves for squandering a lead and also playing with 10 men in the 2nd leg. Those posters on here with little intelligence will be over the moon that Brentford won at a canter.
Like the Bluebirds, Brentford will have their one season of fun, losing more than they win. No football fan wants to see their team lose most weeks , which is what will happen. Will their fans care ? I doubt it. They waited long enough to get there, so will be just happy enough to see some football teams who they only see on tv. They can give their team all the encouragement they like, but they’ll soon find out , there’s no substitute for quality.

But not Burnley who still play in the top flight and Bournemouth, who were there for several years before relegation .

Re: Brentford didn’t have to play well.
Why the hate on Brentford?
I fancy them to stay up, great team, best ethos, amazing scouting network. Plus none of the above promoted teams had a player like Ivan Toney on the books
Re: Brentford didn’t have to play well.
In fairness, we didn't have to play well to beat them, either.

 though losing on penalties after throwing away a 4-0 lead would have been funnier

I agree. What a weird and bitter post by the OP.
Why not celebrate a team that plays decent football doing well, especially after missing out last year, AND denying the JBs in the process?

Brentford wont have Ivan Toney on their books long, after the season he has just had.

Why bother making people happy, it'll never last. Don't dare to dream, it'll all end in tears.
Say, are you related to Marvin the Paranoid Android by any chance ?
