Re: Possible Middlesbrough interest in Glatzel?
Presumably it would be a loan move for Glatzel?

I cant believe Warnock would want Glatzel.

Are you serious? This is the man who paid 6 million for Madine.

He also paid 5.5m on Glatzel. It was a mistake.
Id be stunned if he went for Glatzel again even on loan.

Re: Possible Middlesbrough interest in Glatzel?
Really wanted Glatzel to come good, he just doesn't seem to have it. He has something about him but not enough for what we need.

Re: Possible Middlesbrough interest in Glatzel?
Didn't we beat Boro to his signature when Woodgate was in charge (according to the media)?
Looked they they played without a recognised striker yesterday too when I had a look at their starting line-up.

I wouldn't, he's a stubborn old bastard, he'll think that he can get the best out of Glatzel-I really hope he does anyway :hehe:

Proven Champ striker, could we get 7.5m? :hehe:. In reality, I'd take anything.
I thought Morison wanted to thump him yesterday, he was getting so annoyed!

We did, he scored a hattrick against them in their preseason. In hindsight, it is no surprise they struggled last season :hehe:

Re: Possible Middlesbrough interest in Glatzel?
So the speculation is that Boro want Glatzel (unclear whether loan or permanent deal) and that would free up wages (and maybe a fee) to fund a move for Rhodes?
If Glatzel has been a disappointment, that is nothing to Rhodes. Glatzel has scored about once in four games since 2017; Rhodes about once in seven games in the same period. Rhodes is four years older. He is not the player he was between 2009-16 at Huddersfield and Blackburn. He is in fast decline.
For all his limitations (although I still have hopes he can still be coached into a better player) I would keep Glatzel every time. if it is a straight choice between the two of them

Re: Possible Middlesbrough interest in Glatzel?
I’d take 4m for him; he has only just turned 27.

Why the hell do you care about any fee we get for any player? It totally bemuses me that anyone still attaches any importance to it

call 0800 odemwingie cabs... he will have you there in no time...

Re: Possible Middlesbrough interest in Glatzel?
He’s simply not strong enough to play him as we need our strikers to play, with back to goal.
Look at Bamford if he gets the ball in the right places with the right players around him he’s smashing them in in the premier league, after looking mediocre in the championship.
We’d make Bamford look league 2 at best

Because he is not that good, probably on a high wage, and we are leaking money. So we could sign another more talented play from Europe who would cost half as much.

Re: Possible Middlesbrough interest in Glatzel?
If Warnock is after him, it’ll be on loan with a minimum contribution to wages

Or a £10 million pound bid on a 5 year contract on high wages.

Doubt it as I don’t think Colin’s son is Glatzels agent ,so no Bacuna type deal

Same here, but he really didn’t take the opportunity he had when Moore was injured. As Jon says though, Rhodes has looked like a player in decline for a few seasons now.
