Re: Difficult Films To Watch
I don't get this at all. If a person finds a film difficult watch why would they watch it? Just turn the thing off.
I look on films being entertainment, part of my leisure time. Why waste your free time doing something that isn't pleasant? It makes no sense.

The greenhouse scene in Scum is a difficult watch

Films with difficult subject matters are often very thought provoking
Taxi Driver looks at the mental decline of a Vietnam vet into paranoia and psychosis after witnessing child exploitation and the nightmare of the sex industry
Films can often be very harrowing to watch but not unwatchable
I enjoy comedies too , spinal tap is in my opinion the funniest film in the last 40 years

Sorry, I just don't get it. I've seen enough serious shit myself in my life, I certainly don't need to watch other shit in the guise of entertainment.
Still, each to his own.

No country for old men was really disappointing
Usually like Tommy Lee Jones films but not this one.
Zodiac was another hard watch

Re: Difficult Films To Watch
An example of a film that is difficult to watch that everyone should watch is The Cove.

The Human Centipede
The Human Centipede 2

Re: Difficult Films To Watch
Out of the Blue. It stars Dennis Hopper. I found it quite sickening, as it’s obvious Hoppers character molested his daughter.

It is funny that you say that, as somehow it had completely passed me by but I watched it recently.
I really enjoyed it but it has without doubt one of the worst endings of all time. Which is a real shame. Typical Coen Brothers’ ‘quirkiness’ which just reminded me why I don’t watch their other films.

Forced myself to watch it due to it being renowned as the best film ever - just couldn't enjoy it.

I'm with you, I can't watch any films that are overtly racist or bigoted.

Do you ever watch the news or documentaries on crime , corruption , the uncovering of scandals , vice , murder ?
Some of that can be distressing to watch and sometimes more so that films as its real life

No humour at all in that film
Darkness and brutality all the way through
You are wishing for a happy ending but it is never going to happen
I felt shocked and cold

Re: Difficult Films To Watch
Watched the first with an ex gf
Awful awful film
Also it spoilt James Bond films with PB
In them after watching him sing.
-
Re: Difficult Films To Watch
some parts of good fellas are very graphic
The severe kicking given to Billy Bats in the bar before they open the boot , shoot him and knife him is disturbing
-
Re: Difficult Films To Watch
The movie is an absolute masterpiece, but this scene is always difficult to watch

I watch the news, about once a week, although I listen to it on the radio every day whilst I'm driving. But if they keep banging on about the same thing I tend to turn it off.
The crime murder and vice I've seen enough of real time thank you, and scandals tend to be peop0les personal life being made public just to damage them or for spite. I'm not interested in it.
