Too early to book flights for October?
Looking to go away in half term - not sure if it's worth risking
On another note - Cardiff airport - is it even worth it opening?
Re: Too early to book flights for October?

If not its Oct 1/2 term for us

I’ve got flights booked for October half term, booked them ages ago.....guess it depends where you are going? You can fly to some places next week nevermind October which gives you another 5 months

Don't see why not, hopefully the new routes from Wizz Air will help of course TUI.

I can only give my opinion, which is that I think that the risk is low.
I have an exemption which has allowed me to continue to fly during the pandemic, probably around a dozen time and my experience has been that each airport / country has been on a par or stricter than the UK.
I had Covid last September in the UK totally unrelated to travel. I’ve had probably 20 negative PCR test and endless sessions of quarantine. I’m back to the UK in 2 weeks & back out late June. The only concern I’ve had has been the 2-3 hour queues at Heathrow where thousands of people unhealthily mix.
No-one can make the choice for you, you need to weigh up all of the information and decide.

They really need to sort out arrivals somehow, people from red list countries really shouldn’t be mixing with people who aren’t. I get the logistics of this are tricky but surely they could be routed to one terminal at Gatwick or something?

Personally I wouldn't risk it without seeing what happens with this Indian Variant - announced today that UK is the country with the 2nd amount of cases in the world

And the country that no doubt let most people from India fly in....absolute madness saying we re going to make you quarantine but it’s in a weeks time or whatever....the government will only have itself to blame if the Indian variant takes off and places have to lockdown again
