Wonder if teams will go down on the other knee today
In sympathy for the police officer shot dead in Croydon yesterday?

Re: Wonder if teams will go down on the other knee today
People being this stupid is why I don’t think getting involved in online debate is actually worth it.

Re: Wonder if teams will go down on the other knee today

You may have more luck with this sort of thing on the other forum or the comments section of the Daily Mail.

Re: Wonder if teams will go down on the other knee today
I was thinking the same as well

Re: Wonder if teams will go down on the other knee today
Or Breonna Taylor perhaps? Far more appropriate I should think

It’s just as stupid. That happened in America.
Are we going to start kneeling for every person in the world unjustly killed.
The BLM movement should be highlighting issues in our country. Same as when people were rallying here against Trump. Just selective behaviours.

As he was not the victim of systemic racism, I doubt it.
Keep trying though.

Do you really think there's a valid comparison between a police officer tragically being killed while doing his job by a nutcase, and centuries of black people suffering racism at the hands of white people? If so, I'm all ears...

Re: Wonder if teams will go down on the other knee today
Black lives crew come across as a fascist group with good intentions but with a sinister underground

It's hardly stupid! The more pressure the whole world puts on America the more likely there will be change. We have nothing like the same issues in this country

I thought most angles on knee taking would have been aired in the several threads over the last few weeks but it would appear there is still some room for whatabouttery.
What I would say is that football is perfectly capable of paying respect to fallen police officers. For instance I was in the crowd for last season's Reading away game where players, officials and both sets of fans were able to honour the name of PC Andrew Harper who was criminally killed nearby.

There seems room for both type of action without it becoming a zero sum game.

I don't see them that way; now the EDL on the other hand...

I have never seen any 'good intentions' from the EDL.

I thought we would have done this to death by now too. Can we expect one of these threads to be set up regularly every Saturday do you think? I'm just amazed how some people get so hyped up over someone else making a small innocuous gesture.

Yeah, I googled it. The boyfriend opened fire on the cops, after they had gained entry when nobody answered the door. Very sad that Taylor was killed in the crossfire.
