He sent off Newcastle's Fraser in the first half for 2 bookables (deserved in fairness) but let Billy Sharp off with just a booking for a bad late challenge. Newcastle were rightly IMO furious.

I bet Newcastle fans are up in arms this morning. I always chuckle at Spurs fans' claims that they have some sort of right to be winning the First Division/Premier League title when we're now very close to the sixtieth anniversary of when it last happened, but at least they've won cups, including in Europe, and reached a Champions League final since then - the only thing Newcastle have won in more than half a century is promotion and yet they have this expectation that they will attract the best players and managers which leads to a situation whereby a perfectly decent manager like Steve Bruce was considered not good enough for them from the moment he walked through the door.
