Farage and how he profited from Brexit
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/featu...beat-the-crash
Remember when Farage conceded the Brexit vote not long after polls closed? Well, it looks like he may have had an ulterior motive. One that made millions for the hedge funds he was involved with by selling sterling just before the crash having given it a boost with his statement (knowing it was false as they had access to polls that shouldn't have been available to them).
Is anyone surprised? Maybe those who bought his 'anti-elite' cover story.

As much as I despise the t***, I'm not seeing a "smoking gun" here.
Hopefully there's more to come out

Re: Farage and how he profited from Brexit
More idle bollocks with no evidence, as usual! A leave poll was released at 10.01am which was 0.1% out on 33m votes, Nigel was negative all evening until the first results started coming. In fact, it was written about it the bad boys of Brexit.

Think there's worse smoking guns and alledged profiteering ,than Fartage alledged dabble ,if he'd ever had one .

Well, if dyed in the wool socialists like you and Gluey can't find anything wrong, Farage must be in the clear.

Not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean people profiteering from the referendum?

Re: Farage and how he profited from Brexit
This does seem dodgy to me. people are on record having said that they told Farage that their polling was predicting a leave vote before he "conceded defeat" on live television.
I doubt they'll be able to prove anything though.

I'm sure if they had a desire to investigate and prove, they could and would , trouble is ,how many others may have been invloved
.
I cant think it was just the Farage who allegedly had the nounce to explore these lucrative market swings.

Re: Farage and how he profited from Brexit
Nigel sure looks pretty chuffed with the drop in sterling

It was my understanding that the privately commissioned poll results that you refer to were not made public - which is kind of the point.

It's covered in the Bad Boys of Brexit.

I really really do not want to go spend hours on google looking for the correct quote.
Maybe you could just quote a few lines from the book confirming that the privately commissioned Survation exit poll was released to the public at 10.01 as you have unequivocally stated twice in this thread.
Should only take a minute or two, and I really would be most grateful

I got my information directly from the author of The Bad Boys of Brexit

"It's covered in the Bad Boys of Brexit."
I kind of took this to mean the details of the poll being released were covered in the book"the bad boys of brexit"
Silly me

Yes, the author specifically debunked the above story directly, and also added that it was covered in the book, hence the reason why I posted it.

I note that the Remoaners' two-year long sulk show no sign of abating.

Yup, quite right. Thought it was stupid then, still think it's stupid now
