David Beckham signs a £150 million pound deal..
... no, not to become our new midfielder or manager, but to be an ambassador for Qatar during next year's World Cup.
A source said: “David believes in Qatar’s commitment to progress and that the World Cup — the first to be held in the Arab world — can affect significant positive change".
Qatar has been widely criticised for its human rights record, with women and gay people suffering from discrimination*
Think of all those poor workers who died during the construction of the stadiums and their poor living conditions whilst there. It's an unjust world sometimes.

I remember he was part of the FA's bid for the 2018 World Cup which they were upset about. Just googled though and found this from 2015 amid all the fifa corruption stuff.
"Whether it's corrupt or not, those countries have been chosen," Beckham said. "People need to get behind that. It's all about bringing football to new countries. I think they should stick with it."

But he’s a billionaire with a massive reputation. He could still flog dead horses and make money.

Thousands in poverty in our own country , pay freezes , food banks etc and this multi millionaire does this.

Yeah that’s why I think it’s a bad PR move. I don’t really have much issue with an average person going to work somewhere like this so they can make a bit of cash.
But when it’s someone like Beckham propping something like this up for no real benefit it seems pointless.
