Apologies for swearing by football commentators
There is a lot of apologising going on in games since the absence of crowd noise but I've noticed that the word "knackered" being used pretty often by themselves.
When in secondary school one of the boys whilst getting changed after games used the word to describe how he felt after his exertion and had the dap off the teacher.
Whilst I wouldn't class it's use as foul language, I do think it inappropriate for use on national television piped into millions of peoples' living rooms.
Anyone else feel as abhorred as I do?

I can’t believe knackered is a swear word
Re: Apologies for swearing by football commentators
I can't believe its not butter
Re: Apologies for swearing by football commentators
I wish they'd just apologise in advance before KO, then shut up.

Gets on my pissing nerves.

Gets on my nerves as well.
Likewise after every tv programme these days, there's an action line phone number "in case you've been affected in any way" .

That bothers you? I like that programme makers are responsible with this. While most of us might think not be bothered at all, there will be people out there who benefit from such things.

They could remove the pitch-side microphones if they were that concerned.

It's really the fault of the two managers and their assistants. When Mick or Terry shout " Rallsy get yer f*cking 'ead in", they could just as easily say something along the lines of "Joseph old fruit, would it be possible to just increase your commitment to obtaining possession from that opposition player just a smithen, please ? "
Getting him to pass the ball would be another fking matter.

Maybe it's not that they are concerned per se but concerned at the number of complaints that may follow by members of the public.
Similarly, people think that Health and Safety is overcooked but possible litigation ensuing is a concern.

Definitely on to something there Monkfish.
Instead of "Keiffer you tit, next time the keeper fouls you go down FFS" MM should say, "Young man, I admire your honesty but in future please make less of an effort to be upstanding, both morally and physically".
