TC took charge of Wolves for 13 games, (W=0, D=4, L=9) after Mick was sacked back in 2012. He must have realised after that stint, that he was better suited to the No.2 role.

Brian Kidd was another who tried it but didn't work out and he had probably the best ever teacher in Fergie.
Huge difference between boss and No.2 but one as important as the other.
Clough and Taylor were a match made in heaven.
