I know you're joking but there is a serious point here, amid all the wailing about it being McCarthy there is a real chance that this is a sensible move by the club - a stopgap to ensure we don't get relegated whilst they make sure they get the next appointment right

You give the board too much credit. If it’s just a case of giving it to Mick as he’s a safe pair of hands why offer it to Paul Cook first?

I’d say it’s more likely we are only offering six months to start with because we are already budgeting to pay Harris and Livermore until June 2022 and so we don’t want to commit to someone for another 2/3 years until we’ve finished paying for Harris.

I think they’ve given it to the first manager willing to work on such a short term contract.

Hate all these negative posts. Mick deserves a chance and I'd a sensible short term fix. Let's be honest our form and "style" of football can't be any worse.
