Take out Vaulks for Wintle

If it's a passing game, I'd have Pack in for Vaulks. And I'm not sure we could get away only one from Flint and Nelson.

Think we’d probably end up lower in the table than we are now if we played that team every week mind :hehe:

Took me a good 30 seconds to work out Bagan is playing LWB in that formation not as a number 10 :hehe:

The problem with Pack is that he plays to deep and he is much more inclined to pass backwards than forwards.
It was interesting hearing Ledley being quite critical of Pack on Saturday.

He is frustrating as he can pass very well I remember his debut he was more up top and I though hello he looks half decent ( then he went off injured I think ? )
I don't dislike him as at time he does bring a cool head to the game but is prone to loosing the ball with forward passing / movement , yes he does pass pass more sideways and back however isn't that the tactic that has been placed at his door .
The other thing for Ledley and other to consider the way we poorly defend I think creates the style he adopts ie safety ball

pack has been a big problem for me this season.
he's the only midfield who will consistently sit in front of the defence, and his passing accuracy is actually not bad, but his speed of thought and execution isn't great these days, when him, flint and Nelson get a little triangle going it's excruciating to watch, we go nowhere and the defence just gets set and starts to press us.
so many times an early ball from pack might have set us going on the attack but he hasn't noticed it until it is too late.
the only problem is prior to Wintle coming back ,none of the other midfielders actually play that role even as well as him, vaulks and ralls get dragged out if position too much

You'd start Vaulks? Steve, is that you?

I'm hopeful that Wintle's defensive abilities will help to stem the flow of goals we concede. That's providing he's played as a defensive midfielder, of course. And if he plays, then Pack has to be dropped - they are the same sort of player.

some teams play with a double pivot, to allow the wingbacks and 2 #10s to really get forward to support the attack.
Wintle and pack might make a good pair.
I'd prefer Wintle and ralls, but ralls does like to get more forward
