Re: International football: Wales/Cymru v Finland, Belarus and Estonia
1. Pitch isn't helping us pass it around. I initially thought it was 3G because we've not looked this bad since Andorra away.
2. Gunter is far, far too experienced to be making that mistake. He's defended well against France (pre-Euros friendly) and in Rome but that was a shocker.
3. We conceded twice away against Croatia with Lawrence and Mepham as a back two and, if memory serves me, one was a similar goal. Not enough pace to play as a two?
4. Regardless of what happens now, it's still so important to get as many people down the CCS on Wednesday.
5. Colwill's played okay. Small positives, eh?

Lawrence looks out of his depth against the pace of the opposition forwards

I'd really like James to use his left foot

I can't remember the last time Allen's passing was so bad

Gunter is fooking useless. Get the **** off

Re: International football: Wales/Cymru v Finland, Belarus and Estonia
J. Williams been fantastic since coming on, positive forward runs every time he gets the ball... can see why Cardiff didn't want to keep him

Yep. He always does well. I can’t understand why he playing in the basement division. He deserves a lot better.

How the Hell did we win that. Mental

Got there in the end. Dreadful performance. Williams and Harris improved us when they came in

Joniesta is a little gem.
We need to bring Ampadu on Wednesday for Lawrence. I think Wilson is also available so we should be stronger for Estonia.
Win that and have a stronger squad for the remaining qualifiers.

It probably tells you something about the standard of a lot of international football outside major tournaments.

Re: International football: Wales/Cymru v Finland, Belarus and Estonia
Positives:
+ 3 points and Bale has scored a few more. Our top scorer hadn't scored since 2019 before this game
+ Mark Harris looked bright. He was first to the ball in their box three times before Bale scored his third.
+ Jonny Williams carried the ball well
+ 3 points in very trying circumstances.
Negatives:
- Not a huge fan of Mepham and Lawrence as a two.
- We weren't defensively tight for long periods and let them have too many chances
- Some very poor decision making.
Mitigating circumstances:
= Pitch quality. Another hurdle to get over which we just about managed.

If you look at the clubs he's been at recently it's ones where he's felt support from manager. Latest club he has the old Crystal Palace youth manager which is the big connection.

Lawrence did well against Czechia at home but definitely better in a three. He gets into the side because one of our best left-footed defensive players though.

If you consider Bale's China Cup hat-trick to have come in a friendly match (some do, some don't), then his treble against Belarus today was Wales' first hat-trick in a competitive fixture since September 1992, when Ian Rush scored three in a 6-0 win over the Faroe Islands.
And this was, I think, Wales' first hat-trick in a competitive away match since Cliff Jones scored three at Windsor Park in the 1963 Home Championship, back when the Northern Irish football team was still calling itself Ireland.

But how do we class The China Cup?

I thought Brennan Johnson’s performance was a big positive. Chasing down, working hard and showed some quality second half.

Re: International football: Wales/Cymru v Finland, Belarus and Estonia
Sooner page/giggs fiasco is put to bed the better.
Were left with no strikers, i know they want youth to be pushed through but you can't tell me that Vokes / Bradshaw /Evans couldnt have added more to that team than playing a midfield kid uptop.
Page is stubborn we've got little depth and should have reached out to those he cut Lawrence, Vaulks, Matondo.
Lawrence should be last resort stick Davies at centre back and play norrington davies or even joe jacobsen.
Harris did well, colwill was very poor from my city pov.

It comes to something when you’d consider a odious woman beater over your current manager
We just need to get through Estonia now and regroup and thank god we got the win today
